And thats the problem. The league won't do anything until he permanently injures someone.

and rightfully so, u dont ban some1 because he maybe will injure a player in the future. cancel culture does not apply here... keep in mind these guys get paid millions to put their body on the line. take a breather, relax and enjoy the show.

A guy that just beat the shit out of 3 players on your team?
And is about to be suspended for it... This is something to be proud of? Sheesh... No wonder the Caps have been a disappointment essentially their entire existence if this is the mindset...

Sad part is I saw the thread title and thought someone just bumped a really old thread from a couple years ago.

Fast forward to 1:09 and tell me Wilson punches Buchnevich in the head, jesus f***ing christ this place is ridiculous

Love watching one bad angle and making entire judgments off of it!

You forgot punching him in the head AND cross-checking him in the neck. Come on man!

What a complete psycho path. Only a matter of time before he seriously injures someone.

At best I see him punching the shoulder/neck region.

At worst, he was aiming for his face.

How can you watch that and be okay with it? Especially since the dude was face first to the ice and couldn’t defend himself at all?

Ya if your the rangers and youre eliminated you take out ovy or backstrom. Hurt em good- knee to knee or cross check from behind into the boards.

Fair is fair

Maybe not, but that's why there is a policy on repeat offenders. Which Wilson is
I get that he is a repeat offender and deservedly so. But those reckless, stupid hits to the heads of vulnerable players are a far cry worse than protecting your goalie and scaring the shit out of your opponents.
I grew up watching Bob Probert cold cocking CuJo then pummeling Tony Twist in similar scrums. I am not so outraged by A player crossing the line a bit to Cleary send the message to not f*** with his teammates - of course Probie stopped short of making a jackass of himself in the penalty box.
Wilson is scum, but I don't think this is suspension worthy.

we watch different sports if you think that’s hockey
Watch more hockey I guess? If you touch the goalie everyone loses their minds. Here's 11 minutes of similar plays

Shout out to
1:58 where Bennet slams a man to the ground with a head lock and holds him to the ice.

5:55 where Gallagher gets slammed to the ice.

6:40 where Kreider slams a helmet less man to the ice

7:39 where Pollock hits a man twice to the back of the head with his stick

9:40 where McDonagh (?) jumps up from behind and grabs a Bruins sweater to drag him down from behind

None of this matters because everyone will tell me these are

A). Different

B). Don't include repeat offender Wilson

From the replays I’ve seen...

- Wilson reacting to opposing players in the crease contacting his goaltender. Punch while down is cheap and should be penalized. Nothing suspension-worthy.

- Rangers react accordingly and create scrum. Wilson reacts accordingly and fights back. Nothing suspension-worthy.

- Panarin jumps into scrum to get at Wilson. Wilson takes him to the ice. Nothing suspension-worthy.

- Wilson flexes in the box. Honestly the worst thing about the incident. And I mean that sincerely. It’s one thing for shit to happen on the ice. It’s another to flex/brag later which suggests intent/pride over what happened.

I get that it’s Wilson and people hate him. What we have here is a cheap shot in the crease (hardly news worthy) and Wilson ragdolling people that proceed to come after him. Don’t see what about it would be suspension worthy though?

I dont get defending him. My brother is a big Capitals fan, and he can't support him anymore. He says he could focus on being an effective NHL player with his speed and skill, but consistently hurts the Capitals team by making bone headed plays and reckless penalties. I see a lot of the Capitals too. 2nd favorite team in the league.

I pay for NHL.tv just to watch them out of network. I cannot support this guy. He is reckless, and he has not been learning from his suspensions. Just because you're a fan doesn't mean you need to defend his actions.

DeAngelo was a Ranger and I thought he was a complete asshole for how he treated teammates like Georgiev. Thought he was a nut case too and was glad he was pulled from the team. Him wearing a Ranger jersey didn't make me magically like him.

If guys can get ejected from the league for being assholes in group chats, he certainly doesnt belong in this league putting people in danger on the ice.
