Post-Game Talk: To be the man you have to beat the man... Habs beat cup champs 3-1!

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
what i liked most about the game, is they battled through the panther, but most importantly through the refs.
I am not one to accuse the refs for everything that goes against us. But tonight was very very flagrant.
Hutson, triped when clear on our blue line, damn in basketball thats a clear path foul he was so clear.....
then no interference on the goal, one of the most blatant interference i have recently seen, to go and give heinemen an interference for standing still.
honestly that was local school kids level officiating where a team parent is officiating his kids team. hahaha

Bell Centre was f***ING ROCKIN’. Holy shit.

I think this is part of why other teams fans can be so bitter.

Their barns are a snoozefest even on the best days. The BC can sound like a playoff game at any given night. Fans have fun, the players feed off the energy and us nerds on HF can feast on the sweet, bitter tears of these rival fans.

Struble and Newhook have done well stepping into their shoes.

Also, Carrier has done well as Matheson's partner.
Struble with some next level zone exits in that first period. The thing with Newhook I've noticed is there is no waffling about his role. Trying to play center in a hybrid situation like he did with Dach and even Owen Beck doesn't work.
I mentioned it that a number of times we either had two players trying to play the same role or none.

The Sens will be difficult. That's a game I really w as nd to win. But we'll see what happens...

Yeah. They play well defensively, Ullmark is often a wall and they have a lot of physical players who tend to bring it against Montreal. For some reason over inflated head phenotypes like Tkachuk and Stutzle kill us. We need to put some scientists on that case. That being said, we really need to win at least one of those two games.

What a game by the club at a crucial moment in the season. First line looked great. Slaf is turning into a beast before our eyes, and his linemates were sharp.

Hutson keeps impressing, and Struble is becoming more and more reliable.

Newhook is starting to show some steadier play in the 2nd line C spot than we've seen all season. Still not sure he is a 2nd liner going forward, but he could have a place with the club for a long time.

Evans and Armia just wow the last minutes there.

@Ebony Mackenzie what was your old username ? Guys, don't change that plus your profile pic. Those of us with unfavorable genes can't keep up.
The site changed it back, I’ve had the Yukon Cornelius Petry/5thOA handle, plus a few other changes. I let my idiotic sense of humour change it lots, it also dictates my posts, which I assume are an acquired taste.

Remember, I piss you off with my bad Oilers takes. :DD

It's kind of wild that the Bell Center was more electric after a Dvo tip in in March than some arenas are after a game 7 OT winner in the playoffs.
Both Bennett and M. Tkachuk both said that they never experienced an arena atmosphere like the Bell Centre during the Canada vs USA game. They played at home in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

I'm pretty sure I just did a world record wave. Awesome vibes tonight.

Also briefly met Kent. So if he does something good this summer, I'll take credit. Otherwise, his fault for not listening to me or something.

What did you say ? What did he say ?

Tell us everything verbatim. Describe his tone, demeanor and inflections. Please, we want every single detail. Did his scalp sweat ? It must have, unless he's lazy. Please, we need to know.
