Post-Game Talk: To be the man you have to beat the man... Habs beat cup champs 3-1!

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Total effort by Montreal. Great, hard working game.

Slaf was a beast and battled all game, but so did Caufield and Suzuki.

Dvorak was skating great & Anderson was disrupting a lot of plays.

All the D played physical and were steady. We didn't give Florida much. What we did give them, Montembeault took away.

Also guys, it's Hutson. HUT-SON not Hudson. Kid is going to break records from the 80s so get his name right!! HUTSON!!
Don't worry they will spell it right on the Calder. :D

Kudos to Montreal. Strong effort especially considering it was the first game back off a road trip, which is typically a trap game.

Unlike other games, they played well with a a multi goal lead.

Also, I have always thought dvorak underachieved in Montreal. I don't know why he can't play like he did tonight on a more consistent basis.

I think the poster just means habs have a game in hand so they would be ahead because of the percentages. But you have to win those games in hand. Not an easy task. Rags play edm tomorrow so mtl will have 2 games in hand by the time they play tuesday

Hopefully, Rags aren't 3 pts up though because then Montreal has to win both those games in hand. We really need Edmonton to win that game.

Then Montreal is one point back with 2 games in hand. That's a little easier to overcome.

Hey Stanley Cup Champion Panthers! You just got beat by DA HABZ.

2-0 in the season series. Not too shabby although they were missing Tkachuk & Ekblad (& Marchand).

Laine has a shot that cannot be stopped, like Kovalev once upon a time.

Feels good boys. We are improved this season & we will be better again next season. BELIEVE THAT.

There's a lot to like this season. Don't want to jinx it but Suzuki will likely play PPG. Caufield will likely hit his 40g season.

But the thing that should make this season worth watching for every Habs fan, is we might just have the next Calder trophy winner since 1972 and all around GODSEND, Lane Hutson.

So what? Habs are missing a 2C and our top Dmen too.
I gotta admit though. Newhook has been playing a ton better lately. He is actually finishing checks and backchecks like crazy. That line needs an established center and Habs find one, it will be a very solid 2nd line.

Great win by the boys! Panthers didn't show up, they had to take advantage of that. Huge game coming up on Tuesday!

Also, the atmosphere in the building today was unreal. I noticed the team as a whole, but more so Slaf, taking it up a notch after the non-stop Ole chants during the break. If they make it to the dance, it bodes wells having them feed of the crowd like that because this game had the atmosphere of a playoff game.

Laine is over a PPG since the 4 Nations tournament. He's the only secondary scoring of our team.
