Points ain't everything. Tkachuk is a complete player that has a better 200-foot game and plays a way tougher/grittier style than Huberdeau. Something this team has been lacking from their star players. I and many others have said just that.

Tkachuk finally brings an element of tenacity and grit that this team desperately needs in the playoffs. He's going to be a fan favorite almost immediately and we'll all soon forget about Huberdeau in no time.
Exactly. So excited!

That D needs work imo, hopefully Zito has been working on another deal.

Weegs likely looking for Nurse/Jones money after getting Norris votes.

Losing Weegar hurts and I think Zito just determined that it doesn't make sense to have Ekblad and Weegar in the roster when both will be on huge contracts. Some other dman needs to step up and play ~25min at times, or divi up Weegar's TOI evenly with the remaining dmen.

Fresh off my playoff ban to celebrate this huge day with my fellow cats fans. Zito has recognized there was a lack of grit and addressed it by replacing a soft player with a tough one. I second the poster that said this is giving me a reason to be excited about the panthers again.

Tkachuk isn't known for being much of a postseason performer either..
Brass thinks MT is a top 5 player in the league over the next 5 years. Could Huby and his exotic car collection be that? Sure, but the people signing the checks wanted 11 out and have for a while.

Panthers could carry 7 d and only 12 forwards (500k under the cap) but teams don't like not having a 13th forward, I'm expecting another trade. @InTheBiz please confirm
