Idiot. What a pure dirtbag move.

You don't intentionally try to poke a goalie in a mask. In the same way you wouldn't expect a player to just ride his stick up between your legs and puncture your jock.

No, I'm saying it's stupid to say that Tkachuk intentionally speared Quick in the eye.

I have no clue what Tkachuk was doing there, but getting under Quick's mask was a total accident there. Or rather, Tkachuk had no way of realistically being able to tell whether he'd get under Quick's mask.
Those are two very different things you just said.

Tkachuk intentionally tried to poke him in the eye, but yes he probably wasn't 100% certain it would work. Good job.

He - like everyone - knows where a human face is located even when a head is turned. He got a little lucky, but he succeeded in what he set out to do.
def meant to hit his face.. I doubt the man wanted to gouge his eye out.. I mean that would be very dumb to do.. but who knows

It's less about that and more about the small spot that a player could actually do damage from that spot.

My guess is that Tkachuk intentionally tried to wave his stick in Quick's face to mess with him and accidentally got it under his mask. I don't think he intended to speak Quick in the eye. Now granted, not "intending" to spear him in the eye doesn't change the fact that he did get under the mask.

I should clarify that with my original comment. He didn't intend to spear him through the mask and poke him in the eye. His actions were intentional but he didn't mean to specifically spear him in the eye.

This guy is so dirty. Should receive a 10 game suspension.
But he won't even get 1.

I still remember this dirty knee drop on Campbell that morons like Craig Button defended

His stick was already near his face, then he twisted it more into the eye holes. He maybe didn't "intend" to blind Quick, but he intended to get his stick into his eye hole

You really think a guy with his hand eye coordination could make that sort of mistake? Lol

Puck was already covered, he purposefully moves his stick towards Quicks face then twists it. Insane to think it's not intentional
I thought it wasn't at first because I thought he was not looking at Quick when he had done it. But after rewatching multiple times he looks at quick right before he curves the stick then turns his head in the opposite direction and moves away.

Yeah, it does appear to be intentional and Tkachuk proceeding to act as if nothing happened afterwards.

That's not the issue here, the issue is that he's standing behind a goalie and the extremely slim window that a player could intentionally do that.

I think Tkachuk was trying to wave his stick in Quick's face and tap him in the mask to screw with him, because he's an agitator asshole. I don't think he intentionally rotated his stick to get into Quick's mask and spear him in the eye.
