Kam just turned 24. He’s the guy I’m not too worried about. I think late 20’s/early 30’s, he’ll be a somewhat dominant dmen with his reach and physical attributes.

It’s the IQ with him and a lot of that was him switching positions so late.

Awwwwww f***.. They do regress in the playoffs….

Aight. Give me Connor McWhatever and Jones, I guess. 🤦🏻‍♂️

In fairness, virtually nobody on the team looks particularly good by xGF% in the playoffs. Kid line, Mikkola, and Nemeth are the only ones above 45.2%

It’s certainly not a game to hang on the fridge, but as they say, a win is a win is a win. Maybe it will dampen some of the negativity over the bye week.

Jones and Mackey looked good. Miller was bad again but it’s premature to give up on him. I know I’ve said it before but development is not a straight line. You can look at any young player and find a time when this board was ready to run him out of town. Miller is on a down slope now but I think he will bounce back.

Come playoff time, we’ll be looking to add dmen like Lindgren and Trouba. Both have their warts but both guys are what teams want in the postseason….

Having said this, I’m 2000% confident @Machinehead is going to post their advanced playoff stats and it’ll contradict everything I just said, so…..
Lindgren maybe not. Trouba almost definitely.

Team makes no sense. Some of the losses they've had then you look at tonight with it being travel into the second night of a back to back against a rested team on the road with your 1LD out injured and your 2RD out suspended and they fall behind 2-0.

Then they win 7-2. Makes no sense but at least they won. Hopefully they can come back after the break and just get back to a solid structured game. Although the most important thing is Igor getting back to his game. You can't play with structure and solid strategy if your goalie is going to give up a goal every time you concede a chance against. Hopefully the ASG reinvigorates him because if it doesn't we're screwed, full stop. The MOST important thing for this team is Igor finding his game, even if not his 2021-22 regular season form, he needs to find some sort of middle ground.

All this site has done is take a nice win and make it a bury Trouba thread. It’s pathetic and lame and let me let you in on a secret. They love Trouba, because he’s there heart and soul and a heck of a player. He’s the last guy they’re moving in the summer but keep pretending that’s gonna happen. Goodrow didn’t impress anyone tonight? Did anyone watch the game or just have an agenda?
Not any more pathetic and lame than Trouba's on ice play

It's a big problem. They aren't getting rid of him. Yet he drags everything down. What a dumb signing.

I get why they signed him. They didn’t have Fox at the time. Or they didn’t know what Fox would be. But Trouba’s main value was as an offensive defenseman, and that came from the points he ran up on Winnipeg’s PP1.

Once Fox turned into a Norris caliber defenseman and PP specialist, Trouba lost 60% of his value.

The contract, which was from Day 1 a 25% overpayment, became a 150% overpayment.

There are plenty of $2m-$3m defensemen I would rather have here playing bottom pair minutes than Trouba.

But even if he was playing like a solid second pair guy, that still is a negative for us because of the contract. The reason for that is, the $8m he takes up, actively prevents us from improving our forwards. You can’t pay a second (or third) pair defender that kind of money, it hurts your team. Trouba hurts us for that reason alone. Never mind that he actually is bad.

I get why they got him but it’s long past the time when he’s been a positive here.

But they had out NMCs like candy. I do think they can move him this offseason though.

Will they? Probably not because the team is dumb and yes many of us on here are smarter than Drury and Sather. They friggin play Trouba as a number one defenseman on this team. AHEAD OF FOX!

What heart and soul? The heart and soul of a team that folded against the Devils? This team who has played under .500 since like December?

Whotta champ he is.

Miller needs to stop trying to overpass the puck. That’s most of it. I’d rather he just skated the puck out of the zone but indont know what the coaches are telling the D to do
Almost all his major turnovers are being in a tight spot and trying to pass the puck through someone. He just needs to stop thinking he’s a good passer. That, or actually get better at it. He’s adequate,he’s not Fox, he should stop trying to play like it

I’d rather keep trying to coach miller up than trade him
A slow thought processor and he plays a bit yellow .....at some point he will be trade bait . We have a couple that need to be moved ahead of him at this time . He just seems content to do the miminum amount and draw a paycheck when he certainly is capable of so much more . Kind of gives me Kreider vibes although Kreider is a great tipper these days which keeps him around for now.

Of all the chances pretty funny that was the goal that Laf scores, finally deserved to get one.

It was great he caught a break...but after he made the poke/swipe at the puck he started vacating-backing away from the area before it went in.....that is the part I hate . He should be moving forward and be ready to swipe at it again in the crease if he gets the chance . We need more intensity in that area from our forwards except for a couple . Plus....Laff has to stop the foolish looks and body actions after he misses on a great scoring chance ......just put the head down and keep working . It's a bad look and makes it look like he is entitled . The coaching staff should be reminding him of that stuff.

I agree with this wxcept that there others to move ahead of him.

He still has alot of trade value. Probably can get a good young center for him. Do it now.

And yet on the PP they have moved away from him.

I think Lindgren is now damaged goods and likely will need shoulder surgery to fix it half right....it likely pops out with little effort I am guessing . He barely was brushed in the hit that took him out last time . Unless he can be mended and takes a dirt cheap deal and is regulated to 5-6th spot duty I would move him first . I love the guy.....but it is what it is . I doubt they move any big names until Summer if at all . I don't want Kakko traded ...I give him another season . Chytil is likely done.....that is a problem . I wonder if Othmann could ever convert to be a C ? I don't know his skill set well enough....just thinking outside the box for internal fixes . We seem set at LW already......so he likely will be playing on the opposite wing anyways . Something to think about trying him at 3C at some point . Maybe one of our minor league experts know more on him and can comment ?
