He looks good, though I thought he was a better skater.

His skating from a stand still needs work as mentioned. Its as if his skates are dull at times, and even when he pivots from backward skating to forward, the first push off seems weak. That being said, his backward skating is excellent, great edges, smooth and he might be the fastest backward skater of the D core. I hope his decision making stays simple or he will expose himself right now. He has surprised but he is keeping things simple, not forcing stretch passes or pinching at bad times.

It was a bit refreshing seeing Siegel there yesterday who actually knows other sports. Hayes does too and to an extent Jeff. Noodles is clueless on anything but hockey.
They know Golf, but of the other big 4 sports they are very clueless.

Not their primary job.
It’s not, but the points will come IMO. Both have good offensive instincts (Sandin in particular) and regularly have the play in the offensive zone when on the ice. Just a matter of time for them

Yeah I think this was mentioned in an article some time ago. He has a wierd thing where he will purposefully give the opposing player room, and then quickly take it away and push him to the boards.
It is very noticeable, and very effective. The clip I showed doesn't do it justice, because it shows Timmy recovering from a bad neutral zone turnover (not caused by Timmy). He seems to always keep his stick on the inside and leaves plenty of room between himself and the wall. Which forces the forward wide. What he does so well is by the time the forward is committed to going wide on him he is almost halfway through his transition from skating backwards to forwards. Even if the player has a step on him, Timmy usually intentionally leaves enough space in between himself and the puck carrier that it allows him to take a more direct path to net and close the gap. What is usually the result is at the moment the puck carrier thinks they've beat Timmy wide they start to go towards the net, the gap is inevitably tightened due to Timmy's more direct path to the net, and they either lose the puck by being checked or realize they've lost their angle towards the net and voluntarily go into the corner. Even if they take a shot when they have that step on Timmy, it's not a threatening area of the ice, and one where most NHL goalies will easily make a save

on the flip side, Dermott and Reilly tend to struggle with this stuff from time to time, despite having the skating ability. They tend to overplay the puck far too early on and get turned inside out a bit more often.

Great to see Liljegren on that final PK, big play clear the puck too. Keep it up and love the fact you got under that Rats skin and caused a penalty and a TML goal.

I had so much faith in Lilly I was so high on him all last year. He's going to finish the season as a top 4 defender.

Another really solid game from him.
His offence will come once he gets more comfortable and confidence, his passing and skating is too good to not be contributing to the offence.
Loved how he got under Marchand’s skin.
