Liljegren will be an amazing top pairing dman by next year book it.

Just give him a longer leash and he'll get the confidence needed.

nobody wanted to listen to me i hope i dont jinx him for next game but really solid wouldnt trade him no matter who comes bacc hes not gonna cost us too much and hes definitely a top 4 dman with a top pairing ceiling

Mentioned getting his confidence back postgame. The test comes when it wanes again, he needs to flatline mentally to be a true top 4, that we can depend on come playoffs. The skill set is there and I loved how aggressive he was defensively, very decisive.

I was ready to cut bait and he's just been amazing in this last stretch of games.

Some break downs in Arizona but I thought it was Benoit that was responsible for them.

it was clear benoit didnt get the pucc out then the two on one he took the pass away left sammy with the shooter he just beat him that sequence was no fault of lily benoit just had a bit of an off game we won on to the next game

I’m sure confidence is a big part of it, but there’s also his learning curve tendencies in my mind. The more reps the better, and this is him recovering from a high ankle sprain
He’s the kind of guy that is happy to take the direction he’s given and accept the role he’s placed in. Like the first two years in the A where he was tasked with rounding out his defensive game, which he did - while still producing very well for his age….then his last full year the reigns were off and he was driving play constantly. He takes some time, but he’s so worth it.
Any talk of moving him is short sighted in my mind, and love seeing him flourish showing flashes of being the quiet impact player he can be.
(Interestingl little aside that I noticed on the Leafs app last night - he was included in a photo of the big four with the projected lineup. Bit of recognition. With McMann and Auston getting headlines, his production occurred in the background a bit, which is right where it should be.)

Hot take obviously but I'd prefer him to remain on the top line PP even with Reilly back. His shot is hard and accurate (unlike Reilly he gets it on net) and his passing and vision is only just starting to show thru.

Maybe not the best idea if we want to sign him long term by boosting his numbers on the PP, but compared to Klingberg and Timmons and McCabe who Keefe would all try on PP1 instead of Lily, he's been better ainec

Rielly will go back to the top PP but Liljegren has show he’s capable of the role if Keefe needs to mix it up, and Lily should be the QB on the 2nd unit.

8 for 17 while Mo was suspended

Lily has been great. He needs more minutes. He is our second best RHD and his minutes need to reflect that. When Gio is ready to return, let the left side figure it out, not Lily's problem. And if you're not going to give him top four minutes just trade the kid. He's proven himself. Trust or trade. I vote trust.

They torched Ana and Zona on the PP, but it was still pretty impressive.

I like dropping JT down to the second unit sometimes. Maybe Rielly and Lil can both get some PP1 time if one of them isn't clicking.

Add in Bertuzzi, Domi, into the top unit.

Mix it up. Be a coach.

My fault, thought McCabe was RHD. I do like him more than Lily. Lily is our best RHD, must have been all the ad blocker ads here. Every time i change the page its ad blocker this and that. I'd pay much more for a ad free internet.

I'm a bit confused how his overall defensive rating can be in the 98th percentile while his role difficulty is a 36. Something isn't weighted properly in these metrics.

Not trying to detract from the kid, I'm genuinely curious.

He's been awesome these past bunch of games and I'm very happy he's trending upwards again! He has been playing with some aggression to his game which he absolutely needs to have to be successful in the top 4. Keep it up kid!

Liljegren stinks.

He's soft. He's injury prone. He's defensively inept.

Gotta hold onto this guy.

Sure sounds like a keeper to me. Heck, he might actually be their best RHD. I mean, who else is there?

Giordano, Brodie, and Benoit?

Lol... there isn't a legit top four among them. There's your Stanley Cup winning defense right there for ya folks. Headlined by the one and only Timothy Liljegren.

Just turn your heads towards the press box and he'll give a little wave for the whole world to see.

Not close to accurate on Liljegren. but makes me curious as to who you would target that is defensively reliable for this deadline?
