Tribute Timothy Liljegren part 2

He just happened to be on a team with both a deep and healthy blueline, and with a covid roster and cap crunch that just didn't give him an opportunity.

yep. Really he was an absolute stud No d in the AHL at 20. He was too good for the league then.


He should have been on the team last year. But leave it to the leafs to be completely healthy until the playoffs.

he is a clear potential top 4 d. In our future.

How is Topi doing? Haven't heard anything?
 
OK just looked for myself...20 in 23. Tied with two for 3rd in league. Those two plus two ahead of him are all 24 - 26 and all forwards. Nice!
 
I know Rielly and Sandin are ahead of him Lilly on the PP, but wouldn't mind getting him some mins there even if it's when the score is out of hand.

The more Liljegren plays, the better he looks. I'm hoping this continues the rest of the year. If it does, come playoff time, we could be looking at a difference maker.

Yea Ideally when Muzzin/Brodie expire we can roll with Kral/Topi being cheap options once Sandin/Liljegren extensions kick in.

FYI - Bobby Hull played many seasons for the Winnipeg Jets.

I'm trolling because I don't love Liljegren like others do? God forbid you have your own opinion about a player and it doesn't match up with a few people. LOL. no i speak my mind and I'm not a leafs homer. I love the leafs, always have. But it's a lot of, if you don't love specific ideas that certain people post or if you actually speak your mind about a topic that differs, you're public enemy #1. It's pretty fun though, that's what discussion is about.

there’s still really no reason to think the organization ever wasn’t high on him. That narrative seemed to be born when he was allegedly offered up in the Muzzin deal, and turned down, then the media ran with it and until now had never really stopped with the negativity. The problem is however two fold 1) Muzzin is a damn good player, so being offered in trade for him shouldn’t in any way been seen as a negative for your value and 2) we have zero context to what the parameters of a Liljegren based deal would have looked like or LAs priorities in terms of return.
