Liljregen is a good player. Nobody is claiming he's the best player in the world, or in his draft class, or that he's a #1D. He's a good young player that looks better everyday and has legitimate top pair upside. I'm sorry it hurts you guys so much to see our players perform well.

In the Tkachuk vs. Marner thread, Marner was called "Clayton Keller on a better team".
Because some leafs fans were hyping up Dermott like crazy. Guaranteeing him to be a top 4 defenseman for years and years. Making crazy comparisons.
Dudes are so salty any time we get a good player lol, funniest part is not a single one of them have critiqued his game in anyway. You'd think with opinions as strong as theirs, there would be some sort of explanation as to why he isn't a good player.
I’m not hurt at all lol. I think he’s your best defenseman at playing defense personally.
I saw someone bring up Dermott and was reminded about some of the ridiculous threads on here about him. It happens with every fanbase.
That the post he was quoting read similar to posts about Dermott back in the day.

No I don’t. Liljegren is better.
Never compared the players, compared the posts about the player.
Comparing posts doesn't really make a whole lot of sense then but sure I guess

Before Tavares signed in Toronto there was some people who claimed he would never play for the Leafs. After he signed that changed to how he only wanted to play for them and had that planned for a whole year.
There have also been separate threads where Elias Pettersson was said to already be a better player than Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.

It's one thing to say Leafs fans were talking positively about him with other Leafs fans on our board, compared to on here.

This is absolutely asinine. TJ Brodie is one the best defensive D in the entire league.

Doesn't really make sense at all to draw comparisons between comments made about players if you're not comparing the players, but sure nice try.
This is basically what you're doing, lol. Changing Lily to Lidstrom here to show how silly that sounds.
Leafs fan: "Travis Dermott will be a top 4D"
You: "I remember when people said that about Lidstrom"
"But those are 2 completely different players with different trajectories, why are we comparing them?"
You: "Oh I'm not comparing Dermott to Lidstrom, I'm just saying I remember when people said the same thing about Lidstrom. Lots of similar comments were made"
But if you're not comparing the 2 guys, why even mention the second guy and what comments were made about him ?

All in all, you were quite clearly trying to compare Dermott to Liljegren and realized how bad your comment was. It's alright to admit it and just move on, everyone here makes silly comments.

There's no reason to use GA firstly, secondly even the biggest Liljegren homer on earth would say Brodie is by far the best defensive D on the Leafs.
