His ceiling and floor are higher than dermott. And I like both players. Liljegren tops out as a #2 and dermott a #4

LMAO based on what? Dermott has actually proved he can move up in the line up. He’s shown more flashes. Especially when Babcock was here. People give Babcock such a hard time but man can he actually develop defenseman. Idk what Keefe is doing with Dermott but Dermott has regressed significantly under Keefe. I need to see more out of Liljegren. Right now Liljegren hasn’t shown he’s remotely close to being a #2. That’s you hoping and wishing. Sandin and Dermott have both actually shown they can play higher up in the lineup and hang.

Hoping for big things, seems to have big things skill, but has issues with the speed of the game but he should adapt.

I've been skeptical in the past, but he looks like he's got the tools; size, puck moving stilo, positioning, nice gaps on D and a shot.

He loves Dermott, she loves Dermott, we love Dermott, but he's going to be 25 years old in six weeks with a career high of 17 points and he hasn't cracked nothing - and he's had many, many chances to break into that top 4.

Mo is two years and 9 months older than him. If he was special, we would have known it by now.

A deal with Seattle should have been made, could have probably pulled an extra few picks.

yes. Under Babcock he played with Rielly multiple times and he’s played in the top 4 a lot. He’s better than Holl and should probably be playing with Muzzin. I’ve always liked Dermott on the right side. I think he plays better there.

Liljegren is so overhyped it’s not even funny. People on here are wishing on a prayer with the kid. He hasn’t been able to break through 5 years after being drafted. I actually think there are better defenseman on the Marlies than him but that’s another argument. I think Kral and Mennel are both better defenseman. I just don’t see Liljegren here long term. I know they will qualify him at the end of the season but I can see him being moved.

Well Liljegren had some of the best seasons ever for a player his age multiple times in the AHL (especially his age 18 and age 20 seasons) while Dermott was good, but definitely not a world beater.

If he was given the Sandin treatment with the PP time he would have been looked at in the same scope as a Shea Theodore. His age 20 season was similar even without the PP time.

Ah yes it's his draft +5 season, what a disappointment (sounds way worse than he's still 22 and starting to force his way into the lineup)

There’s some things that are arguable, this is not one of them. Insane take to argue Menell/Kral over Liljegren. Have to question if you’ve ever watched a single game of his in the AHL with that opinion. Not even remotely close impacts. It’s like comparing Dermott to Rielly.

Questioning his future is one thing but that comparison isn’t based on any kind of reality.

i would honestly take Sandin, Dermott, Mennell Hollowell before Liljegren in that order. I don’t see him as a high end defenseman at all. He is our most overhyped prospect since Tyler Biggs
