I don't think Timo had a point in the Rangers series but you can't convince me we don't win the series without him. He's more that his production says and his goal production is a 40 goal scorer. Well worth the price for the type of game he plays and how he fits into our lineup which needs size along with speed.
He was phenomenal in the Rangers series. Shesterkin is the only reason he didn't light it up. Plus he turned the tide with his physical play and getting under their skin.

Timo was our best forward in the playoffs. Busted his ass every shift, fire the puck from everywhere, rangers got very little going when he was on the ice.

Just nobody, him or his linemates, could finish ANYTHING while he was out there. They all made regular season Haula look like Bossy they were so snakebit (and shesterkin did NOT help)

The bizarre thing is that like the regular season his on ice GF and xGF were identical and in the playoffs it was off by a bit but not like nothing was going in when he was on the ice. He just wasn’t getting pts on them

I am really happy with this deal and to have the entire forward core locked in. I've seen a lot of posters say they are worried about how the deal will age, and I usually do worry about that sort of thing (especially Palat), but I have zero concerns about how Timo's game will age.
I do have some concerns about how he could age. Power forwards age the worst but he’ll be 34 the last year and aging curve wise I believe 34 is when the big decline generally hits so he should be good the vast majority of the deal

Yeah, his age is why I am not really concerned. Could he start to decline at like 33? Sure, but by that point the deal will almost be done and isnt something I am going to worry about.
