This is basically Mogilny 2.0 only Mogilny wasn't a candidate to sign long-term. But he was bad his first year with the Devils then popped his second (full) year.

Hall was pretty bad year 1 as a Devil too and he had the same West-East adjustment that Timo and Timo looked miles better than him.

You’d think that after Siegenthaler got crucified when he first got here halfway though the season, people would learn not to be hasty and jump to conclusions over the performance of mid-season acquisitions.

Timo fitting in is not a problem. He continued to get better and better as the time he was with them last year went on. A full preseason he will be just fine.

Problem with Meier is that we don't know if he's going to change his number back to 28 now that it's available again.

This is a general comment about the use of stats - this is what a GM or coach should be hoping for. This is what a 4th liner should do. Anything else and you've ordered your team incorrectly or your best players played poorly.

Pretty much. When you're ranking a player based on his teammates, someone's going to be near the bottom. If that's your first line, it's concerning. If that's your fourth line, you're on the right path.

the original argument was that McLeod was a top 3 forward in the playoffs for the Devils. That is simply not true.
