If you want real world advice or help.. get outside and enjoy your life. Unless you put real world $$ on this sport and bet, people getting upset over a bunch of people who wouldn't piss on your burning body is top tier comedy.

I just come in to be devil's advocate. I won money tonight tho so I'm content.

This is not a Trotz built team. Too soft, too small. I'm not sure he could do a lot with them without an off-season of moves that made the team more into what he could work with. He's coached and been successful with heavy playing grinding teams.

The leafs have to be one of the softest in the league at this point.

Look at how absolute atrocious this history is.. Give keefe 20+ seasons and maybe he can win one time like Trotz did. All world and all average.

Can you imagine the outrage around here when Trotz has .646/.671/.610 type winning percentages and loses in the 1st round??
Well it's a good thing we wouldn't be hiring Barry Trotz from 25 years ago. Maybe he was shit back then, but Keefe is shit right now. We can hire Keefe back in 20 years.

Florida made the Stanley Cup in their 3rd? (maybe 4th) season.. Vegas went to the cup final. This "oh its an expansion" excuse is just that.. an excuse..

Reality is, Trotz couldnt handle this market. One bad run or a first round exit with an elite team like he did all the time, would get him skewered by the media and then he'd probably just retire.

I'm not supporting Trotz as a future Leaf hire, I just think a certain level of respect can be shown to veterans of the game who have won a cup (recently). If you don't like him you don't like him, but no need to mischaracterize his career history.

AllDay28 has now won 2 stupid arguments. But, at least he won some money in the real world.

Not happening unless the GM's decision making power has been stripped.

But I'll say one thing: Sheldon Keefe sure is acting like a coach whose performance is under close scrutiny.

The issue with this team is they have no grit. No one is scared of them. And I don’t mean fighting but just the nasty, hard to play against…they have no one. Like a Cernak, Weber in his prime, Parayko…

Just someone who will be nasty in front of the net. Sometimes a little dirty. The leafs defense is the softest in the league and teams know they can run over the players. I’d extend it to the entire team actually, not just the defense

Keefe takes way to long to make adjustments, can't see obvious line combinations, sends better prospects down to the Marlies for inferior players like Malgin. I liked the signing at the beginning but I'm just not a fan anymore.

Slowing starting too loose faith in Keefe as well. Not ready to pull the trigger yet but if this team is even just mediocre for the first 20-ish games, you have to consider a coaching change.

Even though I think Trotz is a great coach, not sure this team is built for a Trotz coaching system.

What other names are even out there as potential replacements?

Not getting the best out of the roster? If Matthews and Marner are scoring they have a great chance to win, other than that, what do you expect this roster to do?

Having said that I would hire Trotz today.

21 Games to AMERICAN THANKSGIVING
Leafs have to be at least 5 games over 500 by then for dubas and Keefe to stay

Didnt some poll or opinion predict Keefe would be the first coach fired this year?

Father says the first week or 2 of the season you always see bad games and not to overreact. Says Keefe is the man for the job and this is the year!!!

:handclap:

Keefe clearly can’t motivate these guys. Maybe nobody can. Every time I think these guys have finally learned not to take teams lightly, I’m wrong. It’s beyond frustrating at this point.

Pretty sure Keefe has a much better record than Trots up to this point in their careers. But overreact.
He coached an expansion team in a market that didn’t know hockey was even a sport.

Maybe he would be a good fit in a market that doesn’t know there’s hockey outside of Toronto, or maybe not.

We all know why you stopped there? I agree with you, he’d be an upgrade to Keefe.

Agreed, there’s absolutely no question they should have hired Gallant the second he became available.

Let the new GM pick his coach.
Let the new President hire the new GM.
