I'm not super interested in going out and signing big FA this summer. I'm willing to be patient and rebuild a whole new core with the prospects we have now to be honest.

I would agree. Considering we're not a contender or at the top of the list of desirable destinations, we'd likely have to overpay for any of the best FAs. Doesn't really make much sense. There are always lots of bidders for any player that would make a big difference.

He hasn't been good this season, but I'd still be tempted to claim him. If Army feels confident that we are trading Suter, I'd be tempted to claim, but if Suter stays, I'd pass.

The Canucks suck.

Jt miller did way too much and the Petey is soft meme has legs. Boesser maybe about to be shipped. They’re running Chytil out 19 min a game. That Horse is gonna fall apart before the race ends if they push him that hard.

We could be a deadline seller and also a playoff team. (Unless we trade Parayko).

I want a hiiigh draft pick and a star player but it’s really hard to see teams collapse further than we ever will and then think they’re some obstacle.

Even if we move Schenn, and assuming we get a “Chytil - ish” player back like Domi: we have Alexandrov, Snuggerud, and Dvorsky in the wings. We have Buchnevich. We won’t have to ask Domi to do something he cannot do.

Kinda ot, but anyone starting to get nervous with Steen coming in? It seems like almost all ex player gms have been horrible recently. I really don't want to end up hating one of my favorite players.

He has virtually no experience and doesn’t have much of a resume to reference, so yeah you have a right to be anxious.

Most of the ex-player GMs in the league don't have a very extensive resume under their belts to definitively say they're no good. If you're selected as a GM, chances are the team you're taking over is a mess. It's going to take a few seasons before we really see what Grier, Verbeek, Conroy, Blake, Guerin, and others have accomplished.

I like the work Grier has done, Verbeek has made some moves that seem odd but they are progressing and loaded with young talent. Conroy has generally done well in difficult situation. Guerin was stupid for the buyouts, but has made some nice moves since. Blake I am not a fan of his GM work but Sakic did great job. I don't think these guys overall have done worse than many other GMs with longer post-playing resumes.

I am just about 100% on board with this post.

Blake, Verbeek and Guerin are horrible.

Conroy is in a tough position and Grier is kicking ass.

I’m willing to give Guerin more time to get out of the Fletcher/Fenton mess.

I wouldn't say Guerin is horrible. He has the Wild in a really good position, and the Suter/Parise buyouts are about to become a lot cheaper, so they'll have plenty of cap space. The Fiala/Faber trade was massive. If he can keep Kaprizov, I'd be very happy with what he's done if I was a Wild fan.

Perhaps ‘horrible’ is a bit of an overstatement. Like I posted, he is afforded more time.
