personal feelings aside, will his jersey be in the rafters?
Yup.

What a polarizing figure this guy is.

My god Red Sox fan's forgave Bill Buckner after they won the world series.
Guy realized he made a mistake, when his number is retired, hopeful most of the never did anything wrong patrol will not be in attendance.
I hear the same song every time he posts!
Love your nick.
I enjoy arguing with black63, he is a very loyal fan to pretty much every player who has ever played for the Kings. He likes to criticize me about Stoll, Smyth and others but this was the guy who to this day still thinks Matt Frattin and Ethan Moreau made positive contributions to the roster.
Like K17 said, it's not so much a grudge, I no longer have a problem with Blake working for the Kings, but I and others just don't believe his play on the ice warrants having his jersey retired. When I think jerseys going up to the rafters I think of players who were revered by the fans of their franchise, and I just don't see that with Blake

So, when do we build a statue for #4
They should erect a giant #4 made of bronze in front of Staples.
Actually he's not. It's the people that are unfairly hatin' on him that makes it appear so.
You guys probably don't remember this but when Johnson obliterated Ryan Smyth, Laperriere was on the ice and went after Johnson. Blake was also on the ice when that happened and stepped in and had a talk with Lappy and made sure nothing happened. He stepped in as a leader, it's just that a lot of these things go unnoticed.
Also, aside from Johnson, how many young dmen did this team bring in for Blake to mentor? Johnson is the only one that comes to mind. Hell, Mattias Norstrom credits Blake for being a big part of his success as an NHL player.
I was at that game, remember that.
Again, congrats to Rob Blake and look forward to seeing number 4 up in the rafters.

Yet another false equivalency. The Blake and Buckner situations are not even remotely the same.

They both f'd up, but one fan base forgave after they won the championship, and a select few of the other fan base is too stubborn to forgive and move on.
One made a physical error on a single play in a baseball game and then reacted to the hatred of an irrational fan base.
The other...well if you can't see the difference, what's the point?

Unfairly hatin'? Get the hell out of here with that crap. There are without a doubt reasons to "hate" Blake. Forgiveness for what happened is up to each individual, but don't pretend like nothing happened.
