100% agree. It was something i quickly noticed when doing armchair scouting pre draft and one of the reasons i had him rated ahead of Byfield.

Like you said his drive, his passion, his desire to win and be the best.

Man we have a gem here.
He reminds me a bit of Messier in that regard, not that I expect Timmy to reach that level (though one can dream).

You mix that with Tkachuk, Chabot, Sanderson, Greig, Brown and the leadership core is nuts.

We gotta bring in Giroux to mentor the boys.

I look back at how the year went with Stutzle and it really couldn't have been any better. The future of this team looks WAY brighter now that he has made the transition to center. He's way more engaged and way better defensively now. It gave him extra confidence and he's just becoming a beast before our eyes.

I remember when the year started I was so disappointed because he looked the exact same as last year and he was really struggling. When they put him at center is when the switch flipped and he instantly looked a lot more confident after maybe 5-10 games. He needed to have the puck on his stick during the game. He's a player that thrives when the spotlight is on him and he slows down the game so much for a young player. I really think he will be one of the best players in the league. I'm very reserved on this stuff usually and try to be as realistic as I can but Timmy has everything. I have a hard time believing he won't be the best player from the 2020 draft when all is said and done and there's a lot of amazing players from that draft already.

As others mentioned, when he will fill up his frame it will be something special. Seeing him do what he does now with an extra 10 pds of muscle, better balance, more power behind his shot and stride... jeez.

I think some of Tkachuk's physical play and leadership is leading Stutzle in the same direction (physical play and not taking any shit)!

Now if we could get him some line mates who can skate, score and play a physical game too, we could become a SC challenger.

Some of his split stats are really interesting.
In wins: 26GP 12G 17A 29P +11
In losses: 38GP 3G 12A 15P -32
We don't have a lot of scoring talent so win your best players score you tend to win.

That said, what site did you get the split stats from?

Interestingly, when he takes that next step as an offensive producer, it'll be because of consistency. So in those 38 losses, he piles up a lot more points wiping out a lot of the -32.

Sens stats as a whole
In Wins: 4.22 goals for, 1.89 goals against
In Losses: 1.65 goals for, 4.1 goals against
Not too surprising I think vast majority of players have much better stats in Wins vs in Losses.

You can find the basic split stats on NHL.com, stuff like road/home, wins/losses, points by days of the week, points by month, etc.

I'll put a few of the other star players' split stats in for comparison:

Norris
In wins: 21GP 17G 9A 26P +16
In losses: 31GP 14G 6A 20P -20

Tkachuk
In wins: 25GP 18G 15A 33P +21
In losses: 39GP 8G 15A 23P -23

Batherson
In wins: 17GP 8G 16A 24P +15
In losses: 16GP 6G 6A 12P -8

Chabot
In wins: 20GP 3G 15A 18P +21
In losses: 31GP 2G 13A 15P -18

Definitely. Also, most likely a sign of a young, developing team. They haven't mastered consistency yet which definitely plays a large role in the numbers you posted. But very very interesting stats.

The biggest takeaway is that we have a winning record when Batherson is in the lineup

God what a player we have on our hands.

Love those two empty net goals to make up for when he was getting snake bitten like crazy earlier in the season.

This guy has all the tools to be a bonafide superstar who puts up 90+ points every year. His vision is unbelievable and I’m constantly impressed with the passes he pulls off. It’s a damn shame he spent his first season with plug centres for the most part (Tierney and Stepan) and his second season with bottom 6 calibre wingers. It happens way too often where he’s playing at a completely different level than his linemates and they just can’t seem to keep up with his pace. I remember he’d always be making these beautiful passes to Tierney but he’d just bobble them every time or turn the puck over.

While his passing has blown me away, the part that impresses me most about his game is his skating ability. Him, Formenton and Chabot are in a completely different tier than the rest of the roster. The way he seamlessly flows through the neutral zone and gains zone possession is outstanding. For breakouts it’s the same story, we’re truly spoiled with the way Chabot and Stützle can pick up the puck in their own zone and next thing you know they’re setting up the cycle on the OZone. While Formenton has the straight line speed, Stützle is by far the most dynamic skater on this roster.

His shot is sneaky good. His release is already lightning fast and once he bulks up a little more (he’s still so young and will grow), it’s going to be hilarious watching him score at will with that wrister.

The tools have been on display since day 1 and he’s really started to put everything together since the move to center. Pinto getting injured might end up being a blessing in disguise. If he’s healthy all year who knows if Stützle moves to C and we may not have unlocked this monster.

The guy has been on an absolute heater lately and has found another gear in the last ~20 games.

Do what ever it takes to get this man proper wingers next year and I guarantee you he’s going to pop.
