Let's not forget that Stutzle just turned 22 the other day and got 90 points last year and he is on pace to get 80 points this year on a struggling team. He already is a great player, someday soon he will be an awesome player. He is highly skilled. Any weak parts of his game will get better as he goes along.

He's already an awesome player. Consistently being PPG in your D+3 and D+4 seasons is an impressive feat.

We all know his potential which is why we expect a lot from him, but he's not close to his ceiling imo.

Alfie/Giroux are great mentors for him. I also think Martin will be amazing for his development.

I'm not a boomer but in all my years watching hockey I haven't seen many players as skilled as Timmy, the sky is the limit for him.

Despite his slumps and recent struggles, Stu is still tied with Pettersson, Matthews, and Farabee (Massive respect to him there) for 4th in 5on5 points

Really want him to get into powerskating so he learns to stop falling so much. Dude has so much damn energy when he skates but no balance at the speeds and twists he makes
Sometimes it just takes time to grow into your body. Just look at Draisaitl. He looked impossible to move off the puck in juniors. Then he constantly got knocked down in his early NHL-career, before he grew stronger, until he reached the point were he has become almost impossible to knock off the puck.

That's very impressive. Didn't realize he was that high for EVP this year. Less games than everyone in the top 10 other than McDavid and Hyman as well.

Has had his struggles this season for sure. When you see him pushing the pace and mixing smart simple plays with high skill plays you can see what level he can get to.

He creates so many chances for his linemates of the rush, and starting to do it more of the cycle now as well. Simple passes to the points, and using his feet to make room and find an open man.

He just needs to get out of the way of his own success. Guy cares too much, like Alfie, and in the end hearing a guy like Jacques telling him he can only control what he does on the ice will help him in the long run

His "diving" reputation is a bit ridiculous/stupid to be honest, it's mollassons like Gallagher who KNOW they can't catch Stutzle as he is way too evasive for them who built this reputation and gullible/stupid casual fans fall for it. Stutzle is an elite talent with incredible skating/edge work and teams make their game plans to stop him at any cost. He is always "mugged", sometimes by more than a player at the time

Perfect example : Charlie Coyle penalty last night

Coyle made a "diving" mimic at the ref but you look at the replay and his stick clearly trips Stutzle. I mean, do they expect players to not fall with a perfect "croc-en-jambe"?

Stu is still young and needs to continue to develop his men strength to improve his balance but will always going to be tripped and held all over the place. Of course players like that attracts a lot of penalties

He draws so many penalties because he's evasive and also has terrible balance.

They may think he's going down easy to draw a penalty, when in reality his strength on his skates is a legitimate issue that is going to need to be fixed if he's going to develop into a superstar.

Casual fans won't know this of course and his reputation will take a long time to overcome.

I think/hope the new regime is going to put more emphasis on fitness. It seems obvious that Stutzle needs to improve leg strength considering his game. I mean, imagine if he does, could be unstoppable.

And his reputation reminds me of Crosby's cry baby... Don't think you'd find many who would say something like that anymore

The fact that he has some things to work on is huge. I think he has the drive to be one of the best players in the league.

If he is able to add some more strength and stability to his already great skating, watch out.

He seems to be elevating the floor of his play. Less mistakes, more smart plays. Even when his game is just ok, he contributes in a positive way. Unlike earlier in the season where if he didn't have a great game, he would try to do it himself and end up costing the team.

Agreed. He's a PPG center despite his faults, which should be fixable with time.

It’s not so much terrible balance, it’s more his constant changing of direction, and moving his feet, then a stick gets in between his legs, while trying to change direction imo.

Jacques and Alfie are gonna be so so good for Timmay’s development.

Soon he will learn to accept the ebbs and flows of the game, not get too high or too down and let the game come to him while being more aware about making the “right” play and not forcing things. All 3 of those mental skills are extremely coachable subjects.

He obviously has the potential to be the best center in franchise history and it’s so exciting to know he’s in the right hands that will enable him to reach that ceiling and then some.

Would like to see him generally lower the degree of difficulty. He’s finding himself on his ass so much and has been underproducing because he’s often cutting east west unnecessarily, dangling through a sea of defenders, or trying unnecessary moves.

He can out skate virtually all defenders. He can snap pinpoint passes with crazy velocity that go through seams unavailable to average passers. Shooting… not so much this year.. but he’s guilty of trying shots from poor angles more than most.

Focusing on fundamentals with more precision and intensity than other players are capable of is going to go a long way. He would score more, put himself in vulnerable spots less often, and turn the puck over far less frequently.
