Unreal skater, supremely skilled, very entertaining. Really enjoy having Tim to watch night in and out.

Although, I’m at the point watching him where I hope that vets on the team as well as coaches tell him to cut out all interactions with the referees. It’s actually shocking that he already has an ‘A’ on his sweater.

He shows the officials up every time he is called on an infraction, or when a call on him is missed. Needs to learn to be more consistently stoic. Channel his emotions into the game rather than waste them on outcomes he can’t control.

Not a diver, but by virtue of his speed, lateral mobility, reliance on edgework, and frequency of possession he does go down lightly and often. That is understandable, and will phase out as he gets even stronger and more stable on his skates.

But it’s those frequent emotional moments paired with him getting hauled down often that in tandem get tiresome to watch, and you can understand why opposing fanbases feel the way they do about him.
Yeah I think Stu is a real gem, certainly has the highest ceiling on this team and potentially the most skilled player this franchise has ever had.

All that is left is for him to mature a bit more. Both physically and emotionally. He still has a bit of a baby face which always make it difficult for me to take hockey players seriously when they look so young. Imagine Stu with a chiseled jaw line and a beard, more seasoned from a few years under his belt. The dude is going to be an absolute terror to play against.

Defensively, Stutzle is a horrible player.

I think big part of that is on the coach, which is why sooner DJ is gone the better. Another embarrassing defensive effort at home.

Same story all season at home - 1-1 after one, go down 4-1 after two after successive defensive mistakes or just get flat out dominated, then score 2 meaning goals in the 3rd to lose 5-3 (empty netter).

Chabot can play D. He just plays too much. You keep his minutes down and you will see some quality minutes from him

Stutzle can improve defensively. He has the European hard working mentality

Brady and Batherson, on the other hand, just your two spoiled north Americans kids who just wanna get their points and showboat

Even Norris makes a comical amount of soft plays. Quite honestly the entire core has no issues with drop passes, flubbing the puck to random areas in the hopes that someone might be there, or just letting guys coast by them. And people can try to defend the coach, but that is literally what coaching is supposed to do. The legendary two-way players all had great coaches.

The team is going absolutely nowhere when your top 2 centers make weak plays the way they have been.

I think brady and Norris have been the worst. Haven't checked the numbers but Norris is really soft on plays and Brady just doesn't accomplish much.

Does Stutzle also have the European whining little bi*ch mentality as well? Because he certainly dives and complains far too much and he has developed a bad reputation all over the league.

I have never seen him dive or whining for that matter

At, least he doesn't throw childish tantrums like Brady, when losing or can't score on a unwarranted breakaway eh?

One of the things that impressed last year so much with Timmy was his defensive effort. So many of us commented on his 2 way 200 ft game. Using his speed and stick to break up passes and consistent strong neutral zone pressure and positioning.

This year we’re not seeing that as much. THANKS DJ.

Not good enough. He has to stop trying to win the game on his own, and let the game come to him. Very frustrating player to watch this year. Clearly, he is lacking confidence in his shot, clearly nursing a wrist injury. For that, I give him some leeway. But, the parts of his game where we are not talking about shooting, he is not what he was last year. And he should not be on the PK anymore

I didn't think they would miss Motte, Gambrell and Watson so much on the PK but it's been atrocious this season so far and yeah Stu shouldn't PK and keep his energy for a 200 feet complete game

Well, they are also missing Pinto who I'm sure they were banking on stepping up, and Holden (Zaitsev too....)

Chartier and Kelly have actually been alright together on the PK, Giroux out solely to win the draw isn't working imo.

I think Norris needs to kill penalties, not sure why he hasn't been put in that role, maybe we didn't want to rush him coming off the injury but he needs to be groomed for that role, Norris, Pinto, Greig Kelly Chartier and Joseph. Maybe Kastelic but idk if he's a mobile enough skater. Lots of guys that have the right tools. Instead we have Stü and Giroux, and maybe with Stü the goal is long term development into a two way threat, but pk is where hard work pays off.

I've often thought that you don't watch a lot of the games. This kinda confirms it

Show me where Stutzle dives?

You're just trolling/gas lighting. Grow up.

You should tell this to Brady not me. He might impress little kids like you but not people like us who have a better understanding of things.

Kids like you start and whine when face a little harsh criticism

Dives? Not so much. But you said whines and dives. Whines. Every game.

Wouldn't call it whining.. it's just letting the refs know that he doesn't agree with the call

Nothing wrong with that. But when you start to throw tantrums every second night, late in games, down buy a few goals, then that's becomes a problem

How ever, if you think Stutzle whines then I have no problem with that. I am not a fan of his play this year either and I have let it known

I cheer for the logo on the front and will cheer for any player who is helping the Team win, I don't give a sh1t about any names on the back, especially if are playing bad

He used to dive during his first season or two..... hard to grow out of something that is part of the European culture of sports (Football). Having lived in Europe for the better part of the decade diving culture is pretty much accepted if it draws a penalty.

Pretty sure someone (veteran) on the Senators sat him down and straighten him out on the diving a while back, but you still see the "look around for the ref" after a hit or a fall, and you still see the whining and that shaking of the head as he skates back to the bench after not getting a call.

If Timmy wants to be anything close to Hossa he is going to have to start clearing pucks that come to him. Hossa was RW and Timmy a C - but I swear to god I saw Hossa lose maybe 1 or 2 board battles and every time he got the puck it went out of the zone or to safe ice.
