The guy needs to simplify his game badly. Maybe something a coaching staff could communicate to him but what do I know.

He started very slow last year too. I actually thought he had regressed and was doubting his ability to be a star level player in the league. He looks like that almost exactly again.

Here's hoping he turns it on.

I say it in every post but I feel its a coaching problem. I don't think there's anyone on the coaching staff who knows what players should/shouldn't be doing.

Stutzle is hitting that time where he no longer is playing using his own brain and instincts, and the coach is starting to ruin him.

Under DJ, this happened to Chabot and Batherson. It's going to happen to Stu, and if we wait much longer, Sanderson and Chych are next.

He goes down a lot because he's still very young and is still building his balance/strength, and he's routinely getting checked while skating with the puck at high speed.

He's not embellishing anymore. It was obvious when he was doing it during his rookie year and it'll take some time before that label gets removed from him, but he hasn't been diving for a long time now.

He definitely embellishes, dude. There was a pretty blatant one against the Sabres.

He's not the only one in the league, but yes he 100 percent dives.

The bigger concern is his whining and looking back to the refs every time he's knocked down or roughed up. Kid needs to get baxk into the play as fast as he can and not worry about what he can't control.

Amazing talent obviously but needs to stop whining to the refs. He needs to just stay quiet, let the crowd boo, keep playing and draw the next one.
I think he needs better coaching too. Maybe individually or maybe just playing in a better overall system. But he’s too wild out there rn.

Immediately. Never talk or even look at the refs again. It's absolutely not gonna get you anywhere and you take yourself out of the play.

It wouldn't have helped yesterday, but he got spilled and looked at the ref while he lay on the ice as the isles went up the ice and scored, but who knows if there would have been a play where he was needed on a rebound etc.

While I agree he needs to stop complaining to the refs so much, that article is dogshit and the writer is an idiot.

He hasn't been diving since his rookie year.
Went through all of his 'articles' what an absolute hack.

Tim does need to stop going down so easily. Needs to move his feet without the puck but this hit piece is sad. He doesn't even have followers. What's the point?

Would like to see him sit a game. He needs a reset.

He is still the only one who creates consistently.

Yesterday in the second half when we were getting chances or getting some zone time it was when Stutzle was on.

No Stutzle is an auto loss.

However it would be nice someone gets made an example.

I'll take the auto loss to try and salvage the season.

No thanks. Just tell him flat out (as a coach) or better yet, Giroux sits him down and has a long chat about barking to refs without a letter on your sweater.

I'm sure that's already happened. But there's no consequences for his actions so why would he change anything? He thinks what he's doing is working and he's the best player on the team so why should he listen to anyone else?

Just playing too much in his head at the moment. Elite players in any sport work on slowing their minds down, and it takes time. He will get there. He's a little in his head, and you can tell the lack of legitimate calls is frustrating the shit out of him. He needs to calm himself down and just play, and when he's more of a veteran, he will get every call. Opponents are playing him extra hard and rightfully so, and the refs are clearly not giving him the benefit of the doubt because of the diving reputation. I don't think he should sit, but I think he should get some one-on-one time, maybe with a guy like Alfie to help guide him.

Yeah I love Stutzle so don't hear what I'm not saying. Just trying to figure out what can be done to get him right.

No, of course, your idea of sitting him down for a game is completely warranted; he has played like ass. I just think he'd benefit more from guidance as opposed to being sat down for a game. He has played like ass and is still the most offensive threat we have had out there.

I thought he was alot better yesterday. There were a few instances where he was clearly tripped, and he didn't even look at the refs.

Even when Tim isn't playing great, he still has chances, still pulls off some dazzling moves. Kid is a stud. He's young. He's playing his first year with a massive contract . . . he's going to struggle with consistency.

I don't think Stutzle is the problem.

It's become a pet peeve of mine and I yelled at the TV when he was tripped preceding the Isles goal and knelt there looking at the ref.

I guess it's always been a pet peeve of mine. Get the f*** up and complete the play and let the letters talk to the refs.

Because veterans are there for that effect.

I think Alfie will help him with some specifics and it will take a little time. I think Marty St. Louis has had a positive influence on some of the Habs young players wrt helping them be successful.

Alright. I guess we just continue to hope they get through to him. Hasn’t happened yet.
I think it will. Giroux isn't the least vocal at refs either though, so perhaps he's not the optimum choice, but there are others who will continuously tell him that that's not gonna fly with refs
