Keith was a Norris contender for years at 5.5 cap, hit, that was before the contract term limit came in, but that deal was amazing.
yes, but that was in 2010-2023. That was a stretched out contract to lower AAV.

His real years, real contract was roughly 2010-2018 when he was making ~ 7 M a year. at a cap of 65-75 M back them. He was at 12 down to 10%.

Jack and TIM.. will be at 8 and 8.3 in a cap of 83-100. So 10% down to 8%.

In the ball park, I get you.. So the 3 greatest contracts. You probably have throw in the Boston guys (name the one(s) you like).

In the end, you still have in Jack and Tim, the two players that will be the poster children for this generation of NHLrs.. Bardy T is also in there. But nothing like Jack and Tim!!!

Number of multi point games he piles up is interesting. 2 and 3 point games are pretty commonplace for him, and he had a few 4 point nights last season.

Bodes well for his ability to put up big point totals.

Had a few pointless skids last season. He could add a bit of consistency to his scoring and maybe even hit 5+ points in a game.

If he does, 100+ point season seems attainable.

59 points in 46 games = 1.28 P/GP which would be 105 points in 82 games.
27 goals in 46 games which works out to 48 goals in 82 games.

I still don't understand how pre draft scouting reports say he had a bad shot.

Like sure it's not a world class shot, but it he beats goalies clean with it all the time.

Maybe because unlike many other prospects he wasn't shooting at junior goalies. I always thought his shot looked much better when he played for the U20 national team in international tournaments compared to when he played for Adler Mannheim in the DEL. But this could be way off.

Also, his shot was always one of his weaker attributes. Most of the focus was on his skating, playmaking and his puck skills/stickhandling.
His shot really started to come along during his draft year and has continued to improve after entering the NHL.
This is somewhat similar to Draisaitl, whose shot was also rated pretty low if I remember correctly. I don't think people still consider Draisaitl's shot to be a weakness. Maybe this will happen with Stützle, too.

Draisaitl is a little whiny and entitled. And I mean he is that good so whatever.

But Stutzle takes nothing for granted.

As transporting a puck, Stutzle on the same level as McDavid-Gretzky-Lemieux. This Stutzle's skill is a generational talent. The rest of the skill set is a way above average. If he will improve his shot, he will be a consistent 100 points player for years to come.

Thing is, his shot legitimately was weak in his draft year but improved a lot in his 1st NHL season.

I should have known people were delusional on Twitter or X or whatever it's called. Some Leaf fan nerd says that Stutzle "doesn't touch Marner, like it's not even close."

Dude...he's 21, just posted a 90 point season. What do you mean he doesn't "touch" Marner? Because Marner runs away from contact? Is that what you mean?

Right now you have to give Marner the edge, I think he gets shit on a lot for their playoff woes, but he's an amazing player that is good in all situations. He's the guy that other teams try to suffocate the most on Toronto. Matthews scores a lot of goals and plays a good C so he'll be thought of as the top dog, but for me it's Marner.

Stützle is close and will be a more valuable player then Marner soon enough given all the factors; plays C, has physicality, can put the puck in on his own, is starting to become an all situation player, and has an incredible cap hit.

Gotta stop caring about what gets said on Twitter or by fans of other teams in general though. It's bile

I never go to Twitter, I don't care what some hillbilly in Elora thinks, but still...Stutzle doesn't "come close" to Marner got my goat. Keep dreaming Leaf fan!

Marner is an elite game breaker, but the fact that Stu doesn't have meddling parents alone makes me rather want him lol

Marner does get shit on a lot for their playoff woes but he's earned that, as has Matthews, Nylander, Tavares and Reilly. They're a loaded team that's consistently failed and don't deserve any respect until they've earned it.

Going into last season Marner was several steps above Stuetzle. This year I'm not so sure about that. After Stuetzle posted 90 points in his D3 season, i think he's closed that gap and i think at the drop of the puck this year, he's going to prove week in and week out that he's the better player.

Stu isn't on Marners level, yet, IMO, but that's not a knock on Stutzle.

This is an 100 point player who was a Selke finalist, just going off memory I'd think Datsyuk and Federov are the only guys in the past 30ish years that had that type of line to be nominated. All situations, PP1, PK1, out to protect the lead, out to tie up the game.

Stu will get to his level I believe, but Marner is a level we should be absolutely thrilled with.

Stu is undoubtedly the better goal scorer of the two.

On 5 occasions, I have seen aquiver in a players face.

1980 Montreal Expos, Steve Rogers.. he was a star, come playoffs, sank like a stone. On one occasion, the camera zooms in: he has a quiver... A few years later, his manager Dick Williams WORTE ABOUT THAT AND WAS AWFULLY CRITICAL Rogers never recovered.

1994 world Cup final game. Italy V Brazil. Penalty kicks. Roberto Bagio comes up to kick. You see his face, quivering.. he missed.. Never recovered.

2017 SuperBowl ... 4th Quarter, New England is making a comeback.. Camera Zooms in... Mat Ryan.. Quivering.. the lost, he never recovered.

2021 NHL season..North Division. Montreal V Toronto.. Game 6, Mitch Marner...you see the quivering..

2021 Tour De France, Roglic has a lead on Pogacar. Second to last stage, Time trial.. Roglic is quivering... Lost badly.

Ryan, Rogers and Baggio never recovered. Their careers dwindled and ended badly. Roglic recovered and he has won other Grand tours.. he stays away from the Tour de France.

Marner may never recover...

It will be interesting to see Tim's face in the 2024 playoffs... It will tell us everything. A quiver and he is finished.. A Mathew Tkachuk f*** you smile and all is well.
