Tim Murray Signs Contract Extension

he's done a lot, the question is how much of it is any good? He is a striaght shoot and gives good interviews....other than that we have had ZERO results. Team still looks like the tank teams on the ice. There was no reason to extend him. Not our money though. Terry can still fire him any time he sees fit

He also hired Dan Bylsma. bleh.

I can get on the hate for Bylsma being hired. So, so bad.

But I can't judge him on the players. I think he's done a good job overall there. We had so many guys out for that first game. But it could have looked a lot better if they had some decent coaching. Hopefully the first 10 games go terribly, and we fire Disco and hire somebody who doesn't make me sad.

Sure you can. You don't notice Gorges stumbling around like an overweight beer league player? He cost the Sabres a 2nd round pick and makes $4mil per year. Gionta playing on the 4th line doing nothing for the 3rd straight year? Another $4mil per year. Lehner letting in 4 goals and losing to a backup in the home opener, after costing a first rounder and playing 20 games last year? The ridiculousness of that idiot Kane even still being on this roster to get hurt after the ******** he pulled this summer? We all know what he cost...... Murray said he has no concerns about his character after he traded for him. Jimmy Vesey? Murray paid a 3rd rounder for him to play for the Rangers. What else? One by one, there's a bad decision by Murray behind almost every player and prospect in this system. The only good prospects are either the ones left over from Regier, or the 2nd overalls he tanked for. That's after 3 drafts.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Murray either. He makes rash decisions without fully thinking them through. He did not exhibit the patience needed to go through a successful rebuild. I feel like this team would have been better if he was patient. I did like the contract he just gave out to Risto and the Okposo signing was not bad either. I'm willing to give him some more time if we can make the playoffs either this or next year.

i also think he got fleeced on the Kane/Bogo trade big league. Check out our **** show of a defense. Bogo has done nothing for us, and Kane has been nothing but headaches.... here's my shocked face!

What are you talking about? I need more details about the impatient moves. I didn't love the myers trade, but it was not bad timing wise. Other than that I don't see the rash moves? Should they have tried to suck last year to get dubois or pulju?

Is it really any different than every line combination in every regular season game being a referendum on Bylsma (in the GDT)?

Wasn't Murray linked to Luke Richardson before Bylsma? He quit the Binghamton job after being passed over again by the Sens

I doubt it would happen this year. If they miss the playoffs this year, and next year as well, then I could see them considering a change. But even Julien is still coaching the Bruins. We'd have to see a legitimate decline in quality of play for the Kings to consider firing him.

So happy Tim Murray has been extended. He's one of the best things to happen to the Sabres in years.

Regier stockpiled the team with lots of assets so it was easy for Murray to make whatever deals he wanted. I'm very indifferent with him. I always thought it would be nice if they kept Regier as an assistant/trading specialist. Murray says. I want ROR. Regier goes to Colorado and gets ROR and a 2nd for Lemieux and Compher.
Murray wants Lehner. Regier gets Lehner and a 2nd for Franson.
