Nice article, thanks for posting.
Mental toughness. Yes.Nice article, thanks for posting.
So much of goaltending is the mental game, and it sounds like Ellis has a good head on his shoulders.
Make that 4
I've only been able to see chunks of three Springfield games this season but he looks like a completely different player than the player we saw with the Blues. Very assertive, pushing the pace on the rush, making smart decisions with the puck. We didn't see that at all while he was up with the big club. Those that watch, does Alexandrov look the same or any better?
I'm curious if he's essentially an AHL all-star type or if he can eventually break through.I've only been able to see chunks of three Springfield games this season but he looks like a completely different player than the player we saw with the Blues. But any player is going to look different on the Thunderbirds than the Blues. He was PPG in the AHL two years ago, so I’d be more interested to know if he looks different now than he did then. To me that would be a better comparison, but I think he’s probably just a really good AHL player and not much more.I've only been able to see chunks of three Springfield games this season but he looks like a completely different player than the player we saw with the Blues. I don’t think the pace is there. His skating is lacking. Just a good AHL player.I'm curious if he's essentially an AHL all-star type or if he can eventually break through.
If you had asked me at the beginning of the season, I'd have said "all year" except for a developmental cup of coffee call-up. But I think he'll come up and spend close to 1/2 the year with St Louis. He's earning it, and there is a coach in place who I trust (and I think Armstrong/Steen trust) to prioritize his development correctly. How much longer do you guys think he stays in Springfield?
When are we trading Saad? How much longer do you guys think he stays in Springfield?
I think he needs a full season to learn the rest of the game. He doesn’t have that down. Turns the puck over with poor passes pretty often. I would be more patient.
