Still wouldn’t be enough from ANA. If they’re ending up with Chychrun, they’re gonna be giving up a first and a couple prospects. This deal makes more sense to me with either STL offering a first+ for rental Lindholm or a first+Neighbours+ for Chychrun. ANA doesn’t really have a place in this imo.
You are suggesting Anaheim pays

lindholm + 1st + couple prospects for chychrun?

In the 3 way trade… the blues prospect + pick essentially are anaheims trade assets from lindholm…. So we’re giving up blues prospect + zellweger + 1st

Chychrun for Zellweger, Perreault, and the ‘22 1st?
My biggest issue with this is the 1st would prob need to be protected…. Or maybe just the lowest of our 1st rounders (assuming we move assets like Rakell Manson lindholm or something )… prob don’t want to give a high pick w/ our top d and 2nd forward prospect

Neighbors bolduc late 1st and cap dump

for

chychrun + Fischer

actually seems somewhat solid as an outside perspective

This is still probably more than Army would pay. However, I think the ringing sentiment amongst most Blues fans is we would be perfectly happy with it.

The difference between Chychrun and Lindholm isn’t really that much and it’s very plausible to say that Lindholm is better. However, with our cap structure and the way Army operates. I can see this being a possibility for Chychrun but I just can’t see more than one of those assets on the table for Lindholm unless he knew there was an extension forthcoming

Ya the big + for chychrun is he’s signed for a few years at a really nice deal, where lindholm there is uncertainty if he’d resign with the team he’s with and then you ask how much…. Realistically he could ask for 8-8.5 and it would be market value…. Ideally he goes 6.5-7.5 long term where ever he’s at

and I agree prob too expensive for blues taste… prob change neighbors or bolduc to peru or kostin and it’s prob nicely in middle ground

Assuming Lindholm has the Stone treatment and will negotiate with St Louis before the trade:

Arizona:
Marco Scandella
Jake Neighbours
Olen Zellweger
St Louis 1st

St louis:
Lindholm extended

Anaheim:
Chychrun

Scandella would have to be traded 1st. When I see a 1st offered, I automatically think that Chychrun is the missing piece to get into the conference finals, a 29, 30, 31, or 32 pick, and not their current standings.

Zellweger is the best prospect out of those listed.

We would say yes. To get the Blues to say yes you just need to come up with a win for the Blues. A win for the Blues is getting either Chychrun or Lindholm on the roster for multiple years. Once we see we are getting that, it's a matter of how many futures.

How the Blues futures look at the deadline:

Top two prospects: Neighbors (swiss army knife winger) and Bolduc (skilled scoring center) you have a high degree of confidence these are skilled NHL prospects who hold really good value.

Young roster players: Kostin (aggressive, forceful, hitting winger with some scoring touch) and Perunovich (dominant at college & AHL, yet to break through in NHL and is specifically redundant on the Blues who have Krug locked up for years).

Bread & butter prospects: Loof (defense), Hofer (goalie), Alexandrov (middle six forward), Toropchenko (bottom six forward size & speed), these are legitimate NHL prospects as well.

Blues hold all their picks except the 2d in 2022 (Buchnevich trade).

Earlier in the year, I suggested Arizona could pick any two prospects they like plus the first; Bolduc's year has now elevated him to where I find it hard to believe the Blues would send both him and Neighbors in any deal.

The Blues offer for Chychrun directly probably looks like 1st + top prospect + other prospect or pick (ie, not both Neighbors and Bolduc). The Blues offer for rental Lindholm probably looks like 1st + 3d type value. Blues offer for extended Lindholm looks like 1st + top prospect. In all cases Scandella departs the roster to make it work.

Kings have tons of great prospects. They can pay that. Our system isn’t that deep. This is blues top 2 guys and a 1st. I’d maybe pay a 1st and one of those prospects and a lesser prospect. maybe.

Lindholm is significantly better. But he is gonna cost ton to resign.

It doesn't seem like you are familiar with Neighbours at all.

Don't take that as a slight on Neighbours. Many Ducks fans have Zellweger as the Ducks #1 or 2 prospect on the same level as McTavish.

I only prefer to move Zellweger over the Ducks forward prospects because Zellweger will likely be blocked behind Fowler and Lindholm/Chychrun.

I think that's definitely the ask, and it's why teams haven't met it and why talks have reportedly cooled.
Ya im sure the asked Mctavish + Zell + 1st from us... which i wouldnt do... but id prob consider if they moved mctavish to Perreault

Bill Armstrong is under zero (0) pressure to trade Chychrun before this deadline besides internal pressure and his unbridled lust for picks. He has no downside for waiting until at least the draft, but he does have upside if the pre-deadline market shrinks in his favor. Which it very much could if/when there's movement or Lindholm extends in Anaheim.
