I have a toddler, so I've been randomly sick a bunch recently too. Right now I get the fun experience of having Coxsackie hand, foot, and mouth disease.
It's been quite the crash course in epidemiology, finding out that kids still get bizarre diseases you thought we wiped out long ago.
Take croup for example. It sounds like something that nobody in the developed world has had since the 1850s, like scurvy or rickets or dropsy, but it is apparently still quite common. Naturally, my son had it a month ago.
