OT: Thread About Nothing (TaN #...lost count)

So after seeing the advertisements and accompanying viral videos surrounding them, my wife and I split one of the Paqui One Chip challenge chips today. Starts off hot but within 30 seconds it was absolutely brutal. Like pain. Tears down my face, massively hot when breathing. It's horrible. It lasted about 25 mins, I had to stop and get milk. Don't do it.

Took me over 15 years but I finally got to see Sunny Day Real Estate live tonight.

Emo music forever.

I saw a bunch of lame toughguy NY/NJHC bands like Madball, Floorpunch etc... opening for other less-meathead bands I liked, but the only real fight I ever saw was... at an SDRE show in Old Bridge. Go figure.

Jeremy E's last solo album was pretty good.

I saw them waaaayyyyyyy back, like either right after Diary came out or at least when it was their most recent record. I was probably just out of high school. Pretty sure I saw them again two or three more times in the late 90's too.

This could have been one of other times I saw them. Maybe not? I thought I saw them at Starland, which is technically Sayreville I think.

I need to take a quick opinion poll .
I have a chance to go to one of these games here coming up .
Either Flames home opener or the Oilers home opener … which would you guys go with ?
It would be a no brainer if they were both same distance for me to travel but Edmonton is twice as far away as Calgary for me .
Tickets are about $325 , either game so that’s not a factor .
I’m thinking suck it up and go to Edmonton .
I have never been to a season home opener so I’m pumped even though it’s not my Devils playing .
I wish I was loaded so I could fly to NJ and watch the home opener there lol.

I'd go to Calgary just cause I've never been to that arena before and it doesn't have long left. Edmonton's is brand new so you could always go there in the future. If you've been to both arena's already than that doesn't matter but Edmonton being twice as far away would seal the deal for me on going to Calgary either way.

I didn't give a f*** about Kevin Rooney when he was on my team, I sure as shit don't care about him now...

So I was able to access my neighborhood today for the first time since Thursday. I’m happy to report that it doesn’t look like any water got in the house. It got close but maybe didn’t reach the actual house. Our cars were spared as well. Can’t say how much of a relief it was going in and discovering that the animals that we left behind on the property somehow survived a near Cat 5 and were happy to see us. Still don’t have power, water or any of that so we are back to our friends (mainly because of the kids) but I was able to get one of our vehicles out and gathered up supplies. I felt like I was in a post apocalyptic zombie movie moving through my house with a backpack and flashlight gathering supplies. Of course high on the list was getting my young son his Nintendo Switch and games. He’s dealt with all of this so well but the last few days we definitely noticed him struggling to cope. He also has a birthday this week so I grabbed all his gifts that we previously had gotten him so if we aren’t home yet then we can try to make things as exciting as possible on his big day. Tons of work to do on the yard (that will take months to clean up) which starts with the removal of a big tree that fell on part of the house, but even after that, today was a good day.

If you haven't been to either arena, that's where I would go. But if you had, then I would see the Flames.

That's great news! I'm happy that there was minimal damage and you'll be good to go, once power is restored.

The ads are still there for me on the desktop site, it just the mobile, despite the fact that I've had a lot more problems with the mobile site (and a lot of mobile sites) that I just don't have with the desktop sites.

By the way, if you like ad blockers, I'd suggest switching to a browser that isn't Chrome or runs off of Chromium. They're adding an update soon that will make ad blockers unable to work.

I use the stock browser on my Samsung phone with some ad blockers, those links to other threads on HF are the only ads I see anywhere I visit on my phone. Makes me wanna just stop even coming here as often as I do.

Gotta be honest this makes me want to do it. We have ppl over for wrestling PPVs all the time and I wanted to get the whole lineup of Hot Ones sauces to see who can handle the hotter ones... but I might just buy a whole set of the chips lol
