honda makes a light bike that tops out at 55, which I've actually been looking into as a replacement once I get my license restored

they do - but after 20 mph you need a motorcycle license and registration/insurance
Some of the bikes near me are going more than 20.

Well, I had been planning to save my 100,000th post for celebrating a Bratt extension, but now that he's made it to arbitration it doesn't look like that's going to happen. So f*** it, here it is.

It seems appropriate to put it in the TaN, considering how many of them over the years have been.

Easily one of my least favorite Dire Straits songs, and I LOVE the band!
I was fortunate to see Knopfler as the second guitar on tour with Clapton in the late 80s or early 90s. They played Money for Nothing as part of the encore. Pretty cool moment at a Clapton concert. I also found it odd Clapton played Can't Find My Way Home since that was a Winwood song.

Have you used it a lot since you got it?

My wife and I are debating whether or not to get a Flycraft raft for the upper Delaware... actually my wife really wants one ... I'm just not sure if it's practical and will use it enough to make it worth it.

This year I haven't but that's really just because I'm working so damn much. Last year I used it a lot. It's super easy to just throw on the roof then throw back in the garage.

I'm pondering getting a GoPro to document some lake Champlain fishing this year.

I’ve seen him several times. He’s not my favorite but he’s a talented player. He was responsible for the world getting the last shows ever played by George so he has to be credited with that.

also quit the yardbirds because he wanted to play bloooze music and not the more interesting direction the band was going in....

add in this and i can really stand behind calling him 'a f***ing wanker' ...he was 31 at the time when he said this not some snot nosed kid.....he should've known better...then again, he was probably so f***ed up on whatever shit he was on to think straight......still, uncalled for

"Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands. Wogs I mean, I'm looking at you. Where are you? I'm sorry but some F***ing wog...Arab grabbed my wife's bum, you know?Surely got to be said, yeah this is what all the F***ing foreigners and wogs over here are like, just disgusting, that's just the truth, yeah. So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. You F****ing (indecipherable). I don't want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should vote for Enoch Powell. Enoch's our man. I think Enoch's right, I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white. I used to be into dope, now I'm into racism. It's much heavier, man. F****ing wogs, man. ****ing Saudis taking over London. Bastard wogs. Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back. The black wogs and coons and Arabs and F****ing Jamaicans and ****ing (indecipherable) don't belong here, we don't want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don't want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country. I don't want F****ing wogs living next to me with their standards. This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for F****'s sake? We need to vote for Enoch Powell, he's a great man, speaking truth. Vote for Enoch, he's our man, he's on our side, he'll look after us. I want all of you here to vote for Enoch, support him, he's on our side. Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!"

That's cool that are getting out on it.

GoPro sounds like fun. Have you used one for fishing before? Does it get in the way?

I have seen some guys wearing them on their chest and it looks like it might get in the way of fishing? But I also have seen them mounted on a boat.

I'd likely mount it. They make all kinds of mounts for kayaks. But I've also seen several folks clip it to their hat, which might not be so bad. The chest thing absolutely would not work for me.

ya, heard about morrissey but not van morrison

edit: yikes

Van Morrison - What's It Gonna Take? Album Reviews, Songs & More | AllMusic
I only heard of Latest Record Project and not this more recent one.

"The shift in intensity is apparent from the artwork depicting a couple being controlled by the hand of an unseen puppet master, an image that crystallizes Morrison's belief that the government and other shadowy forces are conspiring to take away free will from the common man."

Gee, wonder what he's getting at here.

An interesting thing about the age we live in now is that it's much easier to know if someone is just an absolute garbage human.

I've really avoided idol worship as a result the last decade or so. I prefer to save my parasocial relationships for streamers and small time content creators that you can actually interact with and get a sense of what kind of person they are and try to avoid any sort of interest in pro athletes, musicians, and actors outside of the work they produce. Just too easy to be disappointed.

Hell, even the smaller e-celebrities get their dirty laundry aired out. One of my oldest friends in NYC was a Twitter personality and podcaster who had a sizable following. He used to be a functional human being but things took a turn in early 2020. He left a popular podcast, went to establish another one, and then left online for good when it came out that he had attempted to online groom someone who was a teenager at the time. At that point, he was deep into drugs and probably is disassociating.

I've heard other things about him both confirmed (that he is an emotionally abuse partner) and unconfirmed (that he propositioned a friend's husband for sex). But for my friends that aren't on Twitter, some of them had learned about all of that drama only recently. If you don't wanna know the gossip about them that may or may not be true, stay off of Twitter. Staying off of Twitter, in general, is good advice.

Either I know who your friend is or there is more podcast drama than I've imagined.
