My wife will never be able to forget Freddy Got Fingered even though she probably wants to. A certain scene with an elephant is one that sticks in her mind. Roger Ebert agreed- he gave it a bad review, but when he reviewed Stealing Harvard which also starred Tom Green, he said "I said what I said about Freddy Got Fingered, but at least it stuck out to me, which is more than I say about this."holy shit….completely forgot about that movie….. RIP rip torn

I never really cared for Tom Greene, I've seen a few of his movies, but never either of those two. But on the topic of Rip Torn (which is one of my favorite stage names ever), I'm a very big fan of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the one's from the 50's (way before our time) and there's one episode where he's in it and it's great. He was young, if he was any older than 25 in it. Not too many years ago I caught a lot of them on youtube and I know that episode was on there, but I couldn't find it just now. The episode is titled ''Number Twenty-Two'' which is his number when he's taken to jail. He's a young guy that's so impressed he went to jail and he keeps f***ing up. It's great. I would recommend that whole series. That was some intense shit for the 50's.My wife will never be able to forget Freddy Got Fingered even though she probably wants to. I don't want to say it's one my favorite movies, but it's one of the ones that I'm most fascinated by.
And yes Rip Torn put in a masterful performance in it. I think he would regularly come to shoots drunk off his ass. He was a great one.

I don’t blame anyone for not liking Tom Greene. He was such a wacko but I found him entertaining in his heyday. The Tom Greene show on MTV I remember being hilarious.

This is precisely why I don't buy for a second that working from home will ever be the new normal.Well Thursday was my last day of work from home for the foreseeable future. I'm not one of those people who hate going to the office because I do like my coworkers and my supervisor, but I like having that balance. My wife told me that my cat has separation anxiety today. She was lying down on our laptop that my brother-in-law is using for League of Legends, and she meowed at him as he passed by.
As a whole, I like having the option of cuddling my wife, petting my cat, and playing 3DS or Switch while on the clock. I'm still very productive, don't get the wrong idea.
I have to share a great picture my wife had of my cat distracting me from work, but that will come later.

I think I am one of the few people from my generation that can't stand the Beastie Boys.
Mostly because the first time I heard the Beastie Boys they were a punk band and what they became famous for was nothing more than a Weird Al kind of schtick.
This was the Beastie Boys before the schtick. Their whole persona was a joke.
you heard them when they were in their early hard rock phase? That’s impressive. I was in Manhattan and Brooklyn back then and still didn’t hear them until they broke into MTV rotation.
Cassette tapes. I never had MTV growing up...Paterson NJ didn't get wired for cable completely until 1988.
I used to be in a band when I was younger and I was the youngest. I was around 13 and the other guys were older...Older meaning 15 through 16.
They used to bring me home made cassettes from L'Amour East, CBGB's, the China Club, The Rap Trap Cafe all the time...I didn't really like punk at all back then and they would try to convince me with various recording of Black Flag kind of stuff all the time...I remember hearing early recordings from a club, I think it was the China Club, of the Beastie Boys doing a rapp kind of thing and really sounded like they were mocking rapp music and making a joke...Somehow it became profitable for them to peruse that avenue full time.
Certainly was a great time...I get a little territorial too...I think NJ sometimes gets forgotten in what that they were producing back then...Maybe not forgotten, just lumped in with NYI watched a show they did on Apple TV. It was a recent talk the two surviving members gave somewhere. They did a full career retrospective. It was interesting. I was never a big rock/rap listener (it comes off as discordant to me) but I did sort of enjoy a couple of their songs. At least they had a fully developed backing track with a definable melody. It's funny that they are essentially the same age as me and likely you as well based on your discussion. I see them as worlds apart from me in many respects even though we were contemporaries. I never went to CBGBs in its heyday but I did go to a few shows at the Bottom Line. That was a great time for music in NY.
