Why would you go to the Everglades/Florida at all in the summer? I'd like to say you have my sympathy, but I don't feel too bad for people who willingly go to Florida in the summer time.
LBI and high 70's both sound so refreshing right now.
After moving in 2011, I would still spend about 16 days in August out of town. Split between Jersey and Denver to see my step brother and his family. I would fly to Jersey for 8 days or so, then leave to Denver from there for 7 or 8 days and then come back home from Denver. Denver is sometimes 100 degrees, but it's much nicer than the 92 degrees here. And there's also a couple of reservoir's where they have a beach and you can go swimming in that to cool down.
Then I got my dog and haven't been able to do that since 2018. I don't think she'd appreciate me leaving her for 2 weeks with my friends. I had to leave her for a weekend when I went to North Carolina back in January and she was a wreck.
So now my step brother comes here in July with his family, which he started doing even before I stopped flying out to visit him in Denver. And they're one of those people who I don't understand why they would come to Florida in July (they also visit me around Christmas/New Year's for a week), but this is one of his weeks off of work and the kids are out of school for the summer, and we go to Busch Gardens and Disney/the Orlando theme parks when they come.
This is depressing to think about. I terribly miss my double trip to Jersey and Denver in August haha.
