Any idea when it will be on Disney +? I was hoping to catch it in the theater, but life got way too busy.

They just announced it's coming on September 8th for Disney+ Day.

No point for me going to the cinema these days when the just release this movies so quickly on streaming devices.

I was kind of annoyed when they did this for the new Dr. Strange movie. Especially as that movie was very meh.

I'm through about two thirds and I have so many, maybe too many thoughts about this movie.

Quick fire: still better than the first two. Not even close to Ragnarok. Tessa Thompson is actually pretty solid. Gorr is a good villain. The underlying themes are actually not that bad but falls short on the execution in places. f*** the screaming goats gag. I heard about this shit around the internet and people weren't kidding that it is way beyond played out before the movie is even half over and it wasn't funny the first time.

I have way more thoughts but I need to get some sleep.

I ... didn't like it. It just felt thin. The personal stories, Jane and Gorr, could have really been good, but they just failed to give them any real meat.
Yeah this is another thing. I still finished it last night to my own peril and there was so much potential with this story. Which baffles me because it's stuff that Waititi should be able to handle.

I still have so many thoughts but can't work out the energy to type em up.

Like there's just so much here that I can't understand why it wasn't better and it's not as simple as chalking it up to the MCU formula.

It had all the elements of a great MCU movie but the execution wasn’t good. Tried to be too funny while rushing through big plot lines (Gorr’s back story, Jane becoming Lady Thor, Thor with the GOTG)..

Kind of feels like they wasted Bale’s great portrayal of Gorr.

I agree - the pacing was off.

They tried to do too much in one film so it just careened around and the viewer never really got a chance to take stock.

I don't know how i felt about it yet. was i entertained? yes. I felt like they did the character of thor a bit of a disservice in making him a running gag of buffoonery. overall though i was entertained. probably on the lower tier of thor movies for me.

I'm a big Taika fan but this one was a bit of a dud for me. Just too much cartoon nonsense, much like Dr Strange and Multiverse of Mediocrity. The cast was the best part and I guess the soundtrack was alright. Certainly looked pretty. Maybe that's the Disney and Marvel MO now is to commit to flash and cheap one liners but I'm going to hold fast to my belief a movie needs at least some substance to give it shape.

Thank God I didn't rush to see this in theatres. Pretty mediocre movie. There was no real build up for Gorr other than that first scene and then the GOTG seeing a bunch of distress calls. Not much build up to Jane becoming Lady Thor as well. Not sure what accent they were trying to give Zeus but that whole part of the movie was meh, felt like forced humor with the orgy stuff. Felt like a rushed move; an extra half hour would've done them some good.

Soundtrack was good tho.

The more I've thought about this movie, the more I dislike it. What an insult this movie was. I know a lot of people complained in prior movies that the MCU had too much humor that ruined some of the emotional moments, which I never really saw as that big of a deal until this one. You just can't do a Ragnarock esque movie with the plot this movie had. It felt like the villain wasn't on the screen for even 10 combined minutes and I couldn't take any scene in this movie seriously which was really disappointing. Hope they learned their lesson with this one.

DC League of Super-Pets was way better.

I agree. This one was just around the level of The second movie.

Over did the humour. And agree that Bale needed more screen time.

I caught this on Disney+.

I thought it was kinda just whatever. Which is what I’ve felt about most things MCU post endgame.

Hopefully Black Panther is better.

the Thor and Zeus cut scene was actually interesting as Zeus was giving Thor the same advice, basically, that Odin did. The lightning is in him and not the weapon.
