That I don't care much for new Marvel/Disney movies, no matter how many 5 star reviews they get or if Christian Bale is touted as a modern-day Brando. The trailer gave me all the info I needed.

Hence, why I'm trying to leave this one alone.
Enjoy it, please.
Look, I only looked at the stats for your team's prospects but I know they'll all be busts.

The movie overall was a solid 7/10. It's not like the movie was bad, it wasn't. But it was like DLC pretty much. You beat the main game, you download an extra story or so, doesn't really add much. Yes, I'm aware Eternity and Hercules are acknowledged, but overall what else happened to change the cosmos?

The humor felt a bit forced in the beginning, and the pacing was a bit off. Still though, how about Jane. And Zeus lol it took me a while to realize who that was

Non spoilery thought: It's cute. Maybe TOO cute.

I wasn't bothered that it's mostly its own thing and doesn't move whatever the grand MCU plan is that much. Not everything has to be a major event with surprise cameos and big ramifications. I think that burden actually harms the movies as often as it helps.

I am down for occasional side trips like this. That's basically the same spirit as Ragnarok which is widely praised.

Saw the movie last night and really liked it. Compared to most of the Phase 4 content, this and NWH are the best. I am sure Disney plays a big role ensuring it is made to be more family friendly. I think having such a dark villain in a light hearted movie caused many to not like it.

I wish we got more Gorr. He was great, but didn't really get much time to properly evolve and develop. The scene with him in New Asgard was great, would have loved to see more of that type of stuff.

It did feel a bit more disjointed than I would have liked. Alternating between the levity/humor of Thor and Valkyrie to the somberness of Jane's cancer diagnosis and Gorr. Some of those transitions were handled well, others weren't.

The awkwardness between Jane and Thor felt real this time, the tension between exes worked well. But I still don't really buy the romance between the two when they get back together.

Not as good as Ragnarok, but still a better movie than most in the MCU. Enjoyed it being another one where the third act wasn't just an apocalyptic CGI battle. It still feels like a Waititi movie, which is a plus.

The issue with this is that there were other Phase 4 MCU movies that were it's own thing and not as bad as this movie. In fact Shang Chi was mostly its own thing as well as Eternals, with very little callbacks or references to the MCU. They were solid films. This one just seemed like something was missing. It was too fast, not long enough, left people empty and "wanting more"...combine that with nothing happening other than Gorr showing up for like 3 minutes of movie time and it was a disappointing C imo.

I thought it was good, not great. Probably like a 7.5/10 for me. Gorr was fantastic but I cant help but feel like a couple of the deleted scenes wouldn't have made his character even better.

The movie ended up being under 2 hours... Feels like they could have comfortably kept an additional 20 minutes of footage in the movie to really flesh out Gorr even further. Bale was fantastic and IMO had the chance to be among the best Marvel villains in the MCU if they had kept just a couple deleted scenes in the movie.

This film really goes after the alt-right. From the hype of Portman calling the film "so gay", to Valkyrie now being "King Valkyrie" when the king designation doesn't really fit, to her coming out as a lesbian. Jane becoming Mighty/Worthy Thor, which while correct, has to be a shock to alt-right folks who don't read the comics. Mjolnir, through Thor enchanting it, doesn't SEEK Jane out, but somehow responds to her approaching it. That could be interpreted as Mjolnir choosing her over him, though in the movie he is not first deemed unworthy, which was the kicker in the comics. The giant "f*** you" to the gods, of Thor killing Zeus with his own power. Hell, the giant "f*** you Gods" personified that is Gorr - is a rally cry against the rich and powerful, the controllers of policy who do not prioritize the welfare of the people. And the retconning of Korg to be part of an all-male society who can sort of mate with each other, through a romantic endeavor. The first half of the movie mocks Thor for being a rather egotistical, stupid, careless, destructive, alpha male who annoys his team and everyone else, including the audience. Very heavy-handed messaging. Personally I think it has been a long time coming, and I enjoyed it. But I could see a lot of conservative people calling louder for their boycotts to continue. I hope this post isn't construed as political - just an observation.

Ummm so much wrong with this. Valkyrie has always been gay and she has the nomenclature King because that is what Thor called her when he asked her if she wanted to be King of New Asghar. Thor started as pretty self absorbed and this is part of why he became unworthy in the MCU and while not perfect he is much better than he was but he still sees himself as a leader and being powerful which he is. As far as I can remember the Kronans have always been an all male species as explained by Korg in World War Hulk: After Smash Warbound . I think Taika was being Taika and not trying to specifically pass a message as much as him not caring going with the story he wanted to tell.

I liked it, maybe not as much as Ragnork but close enough. The story was not disjointed as some of the critics complained about. Great to see Heimdall's son. We continue to see Thor mature though he is still Thor at the core and has his moments but has learned humility etc. Always love to see Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif! And we will now have Hercules? Nice.

Nice to see Hemsworth's daughter playing his "adopted daughter(?)" Love. Love now becomes one of the most powerful beings in the MCU to date, having been born out of Eternity. As with other shows and movies, Feige seems to be leading us towards a Young Avengers group and it makes total sense for Love to be part of them. We have who now, Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, maybe Yelena Belova, heck Axl was training with Lady Sif at the end!

So I didn't get to see this today because the theater in Turku got flooded in yesterday's thunderstorm and heavy rain. Really nice finding out about this while you're on the buss to Turku... The nationwide theater chain's website said the customer service will be in contact with everyone who had purchased a ticket for today's and tomorrow's screenings.

A mistake in the last film does not change that the fact that the species in the comics has always been male and him stating they are male in this movie is some conspiracy to piss off far-right individuals. Most likely Watiti didn't look back enough into the Kronan race in the comics.
