but usually collisions are bad when the pace is high, wouldn't be surprised if green is running practices at a much higher pace than these guys are used to.

Despite his flaws, there's still a very real chance a healthy Chabot flirts with a 60 point season. The situation reminds me a bit of Letang a decade ago - a lot of Pittsburgh fans had similar frustrations when he couldn't stay healthy.

Chabot hasn't produced at a 60pt ppg in 6 years. He could definitely do it with league scoring being higher and the team being more stacked.

Just hope he's healthy enough to be effective on the ice, poor guy hasn't played more than 71 games per season.

Don't think 60 is in the cards.

He's averaged 50 over the past 5 seasons, I'd think he's likely in that 40-50 range again without fulltime PP1.

21-22 mins a night, 12g, 35a. That's the type of statline I'm hoping for in a 75 game season

Sanderson will hopefully be in the 50-55 range, 25 mins a night, getting the harder icetime.

Chabby should just go LTIR for a full season and train on basic defending to up his value.

Nurse is legitimately one of the worst contracts in the league. He's played 5on5 with McDrai before Bouchard got there, and only had one season of good offensive production.

For someone who's supposed to be a good shut down guy, he's awful defensively and if he even provides replacement level play, the Oilers may have won the cup. Forget about his contract and length.

I'd rather extend Hamonic for $1 million than have Nurse eat up $9 million in cap space.

i don't watch Nurse that much but i did yesterday.

and idk if it was just a very rare good game but he was solid yesterday.

mobile, nasty, simple plays, cleared the crease, covered lots of ground. someone iced the oilers goalie once and nurse went right at him, when has chabot ever done that lol.

like we could use a player who plays like that.

Best way I can describe Chabot’s game - off set plays he can make the play. In games his team is traillling and need goals high scoring or chaotic he plays well because theres no plan it’s just about creating offense and Chabot doesn’t have to think about playing defence or a system.

He seems to get into trouble on 50/50 plays that take a bit of thinking or assertiveness. He plays slow and doesn’t have a plan and we see the Chabot that looks overwhelmed and confused. He seems to get into trouble when he has to think about making plays within a system and situational hockey. Really he’s at his best when it’s just instinct and he wants players chasing him around

What I noticed about Chabot last night was some of the defensive plays he made to break up the rush and cycle (the team struggled moving the puck so there was lots of opportunities for him to make defensive plays), hope he can keep that up because he played a pretty complete game.

Still didn't skate the puck out of the zone like he used to though.

Seattle's forecheck played a big part in that imo, not a lot of time or space for anyone.

It wasn't a perfect game, but he was doing things well that aren't his usual bread and butter, which to me shows progress
