Its a long season, but as you said the culture just seems so different. The vibe is different. This team seems more like a team. They look more confident, centered, and in control even when they are not playing their best.

Good hockey teams also find ways to win even when they aren't playing well though - which is something we are definitely doing this year. Good teams don't steamroll their opponent all year long. They find a way to win regardless of how they are playing on a given night.

Is it crazy that I'm not that concerned about Corsi? Since getting caved against Florida (in large part due to having a large lead against a great offense) the Rangers have been so much better. I think our poor Corsi was what was unsustainable rather than our good record. It's possible that we'll improve play and get worse results on the scoreboard.

That saved goal today was great. I knew he was a decent player so I wasn't as annoyed by the trade as I would for most fighters but it did make my eyes roll because I felt like it was a response to Tom Wilson.

Id add that panarin and mika are having career low sh% percentages. A regression to the mean should be inevitable.

Ive reached the point where i genuinely believe they are going to win every night. The core of Panarin/Fox/Igor is as good as any team in the league, and we are very lucky to have them locked in long term.
Drury took heat this offseason but its clear the bottom 6 additions have raised the floor of the team, and he gets a ton of credit for firing his buddy Quinn and hiring Gallant.

Last year when we had a fancy goal differential but a mediocre record we were told that we only have a fancy goal differential because we had a couple of blowouts against Philly. Somehow that didn't translate to the three blowouts we lost by this year. The blowouts against Philly was an argument against us and now the blowouts against Washington and Calgary are still an argument against us.
