Making $1m on an expiring contract.

It's very likely Deslauriers will be added to the long list of ex-Flyers who barely played another NHL game once they were done in Philly. Some of these guys were good players up until they got old and retired, but not many. And NicD has never been good.

Trotz just FD any chance the Flyers had of actually getting a pick back for Hayes by giving away Johansen with two years remaining at 4 million. With that now being the market Hayes at 3.5 million for three years won't be worth a 7th round pick.

I meant the Flyers would only retain $2MM. Poor sentence structure.
Johansen seems cooked. I think Hayes at 5MM is better than Johansen at $4MM although Hayes has an extra year.
This is encouraging, someone might take Hayes too!

Could see them calling on TK tho now

The sad part is...so many of those guys were staples to the line up...getting playing time over young players.

And we were lectured again and again about how that was the right way to do it.
Over whom?

Andy Strickland just tweeted that Hayes wouldn't have to waive his NTC to go to St. Louis and there was talks between the two teams about him last week. He ended his tweet with "stay tuned."

Like I said, I’d be happy to get a 3rd for Hayes.
I think I am closer to this now. There are differences in situations with Nashville and that trade, so I don’t know that it’s the same, (don’t need cap space, not worried about budgets, willing to take back money, etc.) but if I’m Briere, I’m a bit more antsy to make sure this gets done.

Just keep him until TDL then? I don’t like retaining more than 2MM-2.5MM unless it is a good return, if it’s possible.

God, yes please.

One thing I know about Doug Armstrong is that he attaches all kinds of insane conditions on trades.

I would be happy with a 3rd. I have a feeling this will be end up being a complicated trade meaning it won't just be Hayes retained for a pick. I could see the Blues sending someone back with some salary for the next year or two.
