I’m curious to see the vet they bring in. He didn’t touch on any name or role type. My assumption would be someone worth a late, late round pick that’s a good room guy. Wasn't the word on Walker that money is close, only term needs to be hammered out? Meaning that (If Freidman is correct) we are close on $6m aav?

But since we have little to no context with Briere, other than leaks and deals that luckily were never finished, we have to go with what we know historically with the Flyers, they suck at selling and rebuilds.

I was in the no-trade camp now I think there will be a trade but I think we will be buying.

I am loving this season, the team is fun to watch and look like an actual "team," albeit short on talent.

To me, that's something to build on and keep going - move out the expiring assets, maybe try and make a bigger future-looking move (either at the deadline or offseason), draft well, and keep moving forward.

But those rumours betray the same whipsaw thinking I've seen too often in the past.

It could just be a smoke screen, but it also feels like classic PR framing. Leak a bunch of things that sound awful. Only make a few of them happen. Then it doesn't look so bad.
