This is true but also need to point out that Boston retaining on Lucic was a big part of that deal. Also the fact edmonton "outbid" LA is fine given it was a terrible contract Edmonton gave out. The fact DL did not match i was perfect. The deal would have been a lot worse had LA re-signed Lucic to that deal.

Thank god that man is currently within the Flyers front office though!

Just listened to the PHLY interview with Jonesy, sure sounds like they are more likely then not to trade Walker. Unprompted he brought up that there are different scenarios including maybe bringing him back in the offseason.

Mentioned that they see Drysdale as more for the future, everything he's doing right now is just bonus.

I would Want Otthman if NYR wants Laughton. If Toronto is looking at Laughton, Easton Cowan, would be asking price. If we can’t move Laughton, he would be a good play off guy.
i wouldn’t package Walker and Seeler. I would love to bring Seeler back, keep him a few years.

I think people forget how bad Schenn was his last year here.

I feel like the 5v5 disasterclass of 2016-17 gets forgotten. Like impossibly bad numbers across the board for that talent.

He's right, but it's curious how quickly the narrative has shifted. Drysdale is a 2nd contract player with 60 less career games than Frost. I think Dallas Eakins was really that bad a coach; Drysdale was rushed; he missed a developmental year with injury. But they didn't buy low; they bought about as high as it gets. Talking about this year being a wash feels a bit like self-reassurance.

Trading Schenn was because he wanted to play center and they didn’t have a spot there

They had Filppula vomiting on himself at center on an expiring deal and moved Giroux to wing -- they had room for Schenn. They had recently signed Schenn to a weird 4 year deal. They didn't view him as a core forward (e.g. Tippett) or a center. They were half right, and arguably the more important half. They liked the trade value (for good reason). The worst part was making that trade because they actually wanted Frost. Imagine!

They didn’t see him as a center though.

I’m aware. But he was signed for 3 more affordable years. It’s not like he requested a trade over playing center, which you seemed to suggest. My point is they had room for Schenn at center. They had room at wing. They traded him because they never were fully in on him and got a great offer.

The amount of posters who want to keep seeler is mind blowing. This is the guy that has a job only because of the shittiest GM in history. His whole career he's been a 7th d at best and now that he's played at a 6th level d for around 100 games we should sign him multi years and multi millions? The only thing he does above average is shot block and that's not the guy you overpay to keep around.

*cue the he's a warrior, good locker room guy, sticks up for his teammates, tries hard crowd*

Wow, whole lot of revisionist takes on the Schenn trade. It’s one of our more successful trades in recent memory, but the front office at that time didn’t capitalize on the the picks.

Anyhoodles, I hope Danny trades any UFA that brings back value so I can see a cup contender in the next 5 years.

I have no issue with their approach of setting a price for these guys and not budging (as long as the prices are reasonable and not like we want a 1st for Seeler). If teams offer a mid pick for Walker and a late pick for Seeler, im totally fine with DB saying screw it lets keep them for the playoffs.

My issue is with resigning them. The fact that they are a playoff team means this isnt a you have to trade or sign them scenario bc if you just keep them ots like adding rentals.

Short of maybe a 1 year deal, neither should be signed. Seelers getting at least 3 years and Walkers getting 5. Just cant have that.

I low key want Matvei to not come over.

This plan hinges so strongly on him, that was he out of the picture - the blowup in their faces would be hilarious.
So you would rather people who love the Flyers be spited, why exactly?

The mgmt for the last 10 years has been terrible, but you’ve posted 12k times on this website in the last 6 years because at one point or another, you loved this team and the community behind it. Flyers fans love this team - I have seen way more Flyers stuff when grocery shopping this year than Sixers, or any VS the last 5 years…people seem to care again.

I’m still relatively young but who knows how long I have to live or how long my parents have. A lot of people’s fandom and chance to see a Stanley Cup in the near future or at all, rests on a 19 year old from Perm, Russia.

If you see Michkov as a good lucky break the Flyers way, it’s probably deserved considering: Pronger, Ellis, Oskar, 07 lottery, Hart, and Nolan Patrick.

Know what? That’s actually a valid point. Spite for sake of spite, sometimes… yeah.

Think this deadline will tell a lot.

Guaranteed they move him to C.
He actually looked quite good at center in the preseason. Wasn't as explosive offensively, but it was the best defensive performance I have seen from him. He might find the explosiveness offensively as he gains experience in the position.

Many Habs fans high key hope for the same
