Moving Sanheim before that NTC kicks in is paramount. At that point his value becomes diminished since he can easily nix any trade.

I highly doubt Briere isn't listening to offers or attempting to move on from Laughton and TK like some of you believe.

Once the draft is over, I am hoping that Flahr gets a job offer from elsewhere (like Arby's) that he can't turn down. Same with Lappy.

I'm sure he's hitting an Arby's this week.

Man, it would be really nice to have a 2nd round pick considering how many top tier guys are there at the start of the 2nd.

F*** you, Fletch.

Feels like a Sanheim deal gets done. People talking more about Laughton and Konency. That trade protection is key, they will make a move with him specifically because of that and his length of the deal.

Arizona, Detroit, and Calgary are the teams that interest me there.
Since it seems Sanheim's done here, I hope he goes to Calgary and gets to play with a good Rasmus for the first time in his life.

One thing I would love to see someone like Charlie write about or even a select few in here to take a crack at would be what the ideal 3 year roadmap looks like.

Lets say we all agree that the plan is to acquire cheap, young talent and have cap space heading into 2026. How do we get there? What does it look like?

My gut tells me that they also would want to be a competitive team in 2025, I am not talking cup contender but more of a "up and coming" team. Understanding that Torts thinks tanking is the antichrist, I wonder how next year plays out. Everything we have seen and heard is him and Briere are on the same page but...what is the purpose of NOT tanking next year? We know we have a 3 year timeline to get the team competitive, but I still think we need a top end 1c which you usually only get in the top few picks.

Going to be interesting!

ASF said he thinks Konecny goes to the deadline where a contender will overpay.

Frank says not being able to move Krug killed the Blues plans. Doug Armstrong was apparently telling everyone he was never intending on making all 3 picks. Other teams were trying to move back and couldn’t.

Believes there will be action today with moving money because there has to be with UFA starting in less than 48 hours.

Torts turned CBJ around with almost no FA additions (Gagner, who had sucked here the previous season).
I think he prefers to build from within, pushing the kids to improve, as we saw last season.
He said last year it was going to be a long process, Michkov really doesn't speed up the timeline, since he won't be here until 2026-27.
So I see them continue to trade the over 25 players (who'll be 29+ in 2026-27). Sanheim, Risto, Laughton, Allison, etc. But maybe some next summer.

As far as D-men, I think it's easier to get top D-men later in the draft than top forwards, but they'd probably want to get a high skilled puck mover in next year's draft to go with their more stay at home guys.

Flahr isn’t going anywhere, he and Briere have supposedly been tied at the hip all year.

He was answering a question specific to Konecny fwiw
To clarify, I meant why don't the Blues move a different dman instead of Krug. Surely one of them will waive for somewhere.

I don’t think moving Scandella gives them enough flexibility, and the value isn’t there for Parayko.
