Oh, don't worry, we'd also get Kotkaniemi in the deal.Nikishin for Foerster and a 1st might break me.

Flyers letting us know Luchanko is non-negotiable
77 - Luchanko (he'll only be here for a cup of Coffey, because his shot is Bourque'd.)66 - Lemieux
77 - Luchanko
88 - Lindros
99 - Gretzky
Makes perfect sense to me.

The trend now days is to sign good goal tenders to long term contracts-Bobrovsky had seven years; Shesterkin has eight; Vasilevskiy has eight; Hellebucyk seven and so forth. The Flyers must feel that Dvorak falls into that category. If they're right, the goaltender roulette years are over. If no they'll have a stinker of contract on their hands.
Is there reason to pause? I am not super familiar with his game.Carolina is trying to trade a cost controlled defenseman coming off his rookie year and you guys aren’t even pausing?![]()
Thanks for the nuanced view. It’s much easier to put the OP in ignore though!Lol, man.
He doesn’t have to be “elite” — which no one ever called him — to have a unique skill set. You can make all the pointed comments you want; nobody is hyping him as something he’s not. You can recognize the limitations of him and this team without being an obstinate dbag whenever someone makes a mundane observation.
We know you’d prefer to sell everything and bottom out for 5 years. Congratulations on the brilliant contribution. They are not going to bottom out, so the rest of us will focus on the team as it is now and discuss what we’d like to see happen.
If Vladar's signs a 5 year deal then we are stuck with him for 6. I used "stuck" because I expect regression back to the norm or frequent injury or both7 years.
Where exactly did I state that what Tippett does is irrelevant? Please point that out. Secondly, I picked elite players to answer the question that was asked. There are plenty of players who have the motor that Tippett does. I watched an entire team in Carolina play with a high level motor. As I stated previously, Tippett is in the top percentile in the league in terms of skating speed. Tippett needed opportunity mostly which he wasn't getting in Florida. Tippett is a nice player but he is being overrated by Flyers fans and really the best thing they can do with Tippett is to trade him if they can. You're picking elite players to justify what Tippett does as irrelevant. There's really not that many players out there with the kind of motor he has.
Tippett isn't a player you build around but he is clearly a valuable player on this roster. Lots of scoring happens in transition. The Flyers have done a great job salvaging his career and heck a lot of fans here thought of him as a throw in.
Tippett's lack of power play points could be attributed to how awful the Flyers are at the power play.
Tippett does a real nice job generating scoring chances, best on the team at 5 on 5, which certainly has value. As does his speed. Not to the point of Tippett being a player the Flyers can't do with out. The qualities he does bring to the ice are why they should look to trade him. He's never going to be a playmaker.Zone entries aren't a skill? Is anyone good on the PP in Philly? Skating speed has no value?
I disagree on his playmaking, it was a noted improvement this season by my watching, at least.. He was 3rd on the team in goal participation rate.
Did you read the question that the poster asked me? Doesn't seem so. Tippett is a fast player, no doubt. I also posted previously that he is in the top percentile in the league in skating speed. Where do you think I got that idea from? Tippett is not the valuable player some think he is. He is being overrated by Flyers fans.Did anyone say he was elite? You can't argue he is likely a top 5 fastest player in the NHL - just look at NHL's data. That's an asset whether you value it or not. We also saw how slow the team was when he was out. He adds a valuable and needed dimension.
Doesn't mean I wouldn't sell in the right situation for a top C or D.
Or is it the ultimate sign of respect to a new Cup champ?Such disrespect, right @Striiker?

The skill set of being a fast skater is not unique to the NHL. Ryan Poehling, whom the Flyers had is one of the top skaters in the NHL. You asked a question of me and I replied. The rest of your post is just an indication of the weakness of your position. Pointing out reality and the facts, doesn't make me anything other than a poster offering an opinion.Lol, man.

Yup, Gretzky is left hand shot. One of these is unlike the others
