Rumor: Things Not Left Unsaid 6: Flyers Rumors and Mentions - Brick By Boring Brick

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Did you read the question that the poster asked me? Doesn't seem so. Tippett is a fast player, no doubt. I also posted previously that he is in the top percentile in the league in skating speed. Where do you think I got that idea from? Tippett is not the valuable player some think he is. He is being overrated by Flyers fans.
Well did you see what samskevitch just returned?

Is there reason to pause? I am not super familiar with his game.
Teams don’t go out of their way to trade these guys if they believe in them. Nikishin was a mid round guy throughout his draft year. Nobody really thought he was anything special until he got to SKA and started putting up numbers and then he was universally thought of as a top 10 prospect in the sport. Things don’t truly flip from one extreme to another. Smells like Carolina is trying to sell high rather than pay him. Doesn’t make him a bad player, but it’s not like Carolina is exactly approaching a cap crunch. They’re in their contending window. You don’t trade him if you think he’s a difference maker.

Think like MCW and Hinkie.

The skill set of being a fast skater is not unique to the NHL. Ryan Poehling, whom the Flyers had is one of the top skaters in the NHL. You asked a question of me and I replied. The rest of your post is just an indication of the weakness of your position. Pointing out reality and the facts, doesn't make me anything other than a poster offering an opinion.
Yes, yes, we know all you do is “point out reality and facts” while everyone else’s takes are “grounded in false assumptions” or whatever silly, contrived rhetorical constructions you use every other post.

It’s OK to admit this team has some decent pieces.
They do, decent pieces that they should look to trade. The Flyers really have a good stable of wingers. Teams aren't built around wingers. They lack centers and defenseman. Easy to read the tea leaves.
