Ahh, so that must mean they are elite. They outshot us.

I think you miss understood, was just wondering if we ended up being one of the few teams they out shot. As in not good for us. Defiantly don't think they are elite either. I can see how my post came off though, my bad.

Buff is starting to remind me of last years Buff. He didn't seem very physical tonight. Not really enjoying the Buff Clitty pairing. Should he be reunited with Enstrom fulltime?

I think they played a good game tonight. The power play, Scheifele, and Bogosian lost that game for us. The power play with it's inability to capitalize on 5 opportunities, Scheifele with his horrendous pass behind our net on the game winning goal, and Bogosian looking lost out there on the same goal. Really, Bogosian, why does the winger have to come all the way down to the front of the net to try and cover an open man when you are standing there doing nothing?

One play lost us the game? Not the 0-5 PP? Not get out shot by ton in the 3rd?

Actually I'm starting to enjoy Enstrom's game and am impressed with him now that he doesn't have to play clean up man for Buff. Still don't like Enstrom wasting a second in the O zone all the time to reposition his hands on his Chara sized stick.

Scheif with 1 goal 2 assists in 13 games and I was all over another young guy no longer with the team with similar poor stats, sad part is the other guy was a great skater, could carry the puck and didn't hurt the team defensively. Maybe Ol' Sip was wrong. (Sorry Gump);)

77% cap. sub 14K in Denver for a 10-1 team.:(

Clitsome was just comical out there. 2 of 3 goals on him. He also played a minor role on the last goal.

Game Summary:

"The Winnipeg Jets fell late to the Grant Clitsomes tonight. Final score: Clitsomes 3, Jets 2."

Admittedly, Buff looks better when not having to play 2-1s, or steal pucks off guys on breakaways when his ECHL partner is pinching and out of position.

Read the article I just posted if you think it was a good effort. I don't understand how so many here seem to be watching a completely different game than I am.

So, that is yours and some bloggers opinion of the game. I think we have our own eyes and can assess the game on our own. Just because we don't agree with you doesn't mean we are wrong.

I found the Avalanche attack to be very potent and threatening. The line with Downie was a very good forechecking line. They caused fits with their speed, passing and stickhandling.

Was it a Picasso? No. The Jets made some pretty bad errors. However, what I SAW was a Jets team that put together a better effort on a back to back then I have seen in a very long time. I saw a team that had it's bench shortened early last night and was playing at altitude battle to the very end of the game, save an admittedly frustrating lull in the 3rd.

I am willing to give the Jets the fact that they were playing a very confident skilled forward group at home in their 3rd game in 4 nights. I saw a team that was a couple of bounces away from tying or even winning this game despite all the odds against them.

I saw a Jets team that has tried harder, forechecked better and seemed more determined in the past 4 games and have seemed to shake the duldrums of the early season.

So, while you trumpet how bad everything is, I prefer to see a lot of positives.

Coaches often mention that the tide often turns several periods or games before the results follow. This applies both ways, of course. A team can play much better for several games without getting the results they want on the scoreboard. Conversely, you can see teams on winning streaks starting to have a drop in their play and still winning games. I think we saw that on both sides of the coin tonight.

Yes, the Jets have work to do. Yes, they still need to get better in their own zone. However, if the Jets won tonight, they still would have been unbeaten in regulation on this trip and had 5 of a possible 6 points. As it stands, they are 1-1-1 and playing with a much more passionate effort every night.

In other words, it's not the end of the world.

I posted the link to the blog because of the FACTS in it. Those numbers aren't opinions. Our eyes are not good enough. My own included. I thought Ladd was awful because of 2 plays. He wasn't awful as he and LIttle drove most of our possession.

Coaches often talk in all kinds of immeasurable nonsense© with the media. Does anyone believe they discuss turning tides in video sessions with players?

Thought Seto, Little, Buff, Montoya played decent to very good.

Bogo, Scheiffs, Ladd, Clitsome, Frolik played below average to poorly. Wasn't all that impressed with Jokinen or Enstrom either.

Interesting comments on the post game show. Commentator with Rick Ralph was pretty candid and expressed his doubts about the talent on the Jets being good enough to make the playoffs. Also said it appeared there wasn't an adequate number of skilled puck handlers on the team, hence all the difficulty in clearing their own zone.

On the lighter side, one caller on the post-game show(apparently a regular) said he knew all along the team shoud have started Pavs and that Montoya blew the game for the Jets allowing the game-winning goal. Claimed Pavs would have made the save. I guess he was oblivious to the fact that the shot was partially screened.:help:

I don't think everything is so bad, but we didn't play well. Pretty much nothing we can measure in that game favoured us.

Well, Varlamov decided to play more like he usually does, and the Jets got a couple of lucky bounces. The Jets played like they've played 3 in 4 nights, and in an altitude they're not accustomed to. I am not surprised that they ran out of gas in the 3rd. The game went a lot better than I expected it to, so I'm comfortable with the loss. The Avs will regress eventually.

Well said Jet! :handclap:

This is exactly what we need to take away from this game. Yes it hurts to lose another one, but plenty of reason to be optimisitc.

I am just tired of no improvement of this team and it is our third season.

But, but, but... Fire Noel? :sarcasm:

Good points, the sky is not falling. I think the sentiment on this board is just disappointment. We had the division leader on the ropes and either let up or got tired (my bet is the second one) and lost the game on an ugly play. That makes JETS FANS SMASH

We are in agreement then. Mostly. I am not comfortable in the macro sense, but in the bubble that is this road trip, sure not as horrible.

I too thought Ladd had a bad game, he turned over the puck about 3-4 times, guy has to capitalize on some of his many, many chances. He really is starting to look like a third line guy this season.

Why was Tho-n-rburn inserted into the lineup, does Noel even know?

Bogo and Buff sloppy

Little, Enstrom best Jets

Jets could use a forward who can skate and carry the puck, anyone know where we can get one?

Montoya pretty good, impressed at his puck handling compared to the other guy, Monty really should be playing more as there doesn't seem to be much of a drop in calibre of goaltending.

KHL... :naughty:

People seem to think that the PP is some huge mess, when the truth is, we just can't finish. We've had a lot of different looks the last few games. It's not like it isn't clicking, the puck is simply not finding the back of the net.

Then it's talent. Goal scoring is a skill. One we are in short supply, at times.

Avs fan here, I understand you guys hate Noel. But I came away impressed by the compete level. Second of back to backs and never gave up on any shift. Some of the goals on Varlamov were a bit iffy (speaking as an Avs fan), but I thought you guys deserved a better fate tonight. I also thought Montoya was pretty damn solid, our offense is just too deep for opposing teams; when you have Parenteau playing against the likes of Clitsome then it's always going to be a tough game.

That was the closest playoff type of feel we have had this season so far.
