Does anyone else think Barkov wasn't actually hurt by Draisaitl and because of the theatrics of Lusto earlier in the game was sent to concussion protocol and unable to return for faking an injury?

I think there is increased eyes on the Panthers for play acting.

That was my guy reaction at the time. His reaction at real time is incredibly delayed and feels pretty fake.

Time to nut up here boys.

We can complain about the reffing double standard, about Bettman filling his face in a suite with Panther fans on national tv, about the lack of enforcing the actual rulebook come playoff time, about a power play thats gone stone cold (oh the irony), about the team defence being actually better without Darnell Nurse, about Holland not replacing healthy scratch Ceci at the TDL, about 97 and 29 not delivering on the largest stage, about McLeod carrying eggs in his shoulder pads, about Skinner not making a needed key save thus far, about getting goalied, about seeing that shit eating grin on Tkachuks face, about KK turning into JW for Game 1, about a 3rd line that couldn't score against a peewee team, about Florida out-willing the Oilers in puck battles, about seeming happy to be there versus there to win the thing....yes, we can complain about all these things and more.

But we wont. (I did it for you in the paragraph above).

Its do or die time. Trying gets you nothing. You must only do. (Yoda said that I think?) Git er done...(Yoda said that too I think?).

"Ours is not to question why, ours is but to do or die" as the old Crimean War saying goes. (The old Crimean War, not the new one)

We have to win Game 3. There is no bigger Must Win game this season than the one on Thursday night. @BertMcDrai is flying all the way in from Germany, @Took a pill in Sbisa is flying all the way in from Australia (apparently he is sick and can't work...), thousands will be at watch parties downtown, the rink will be buzzing.

There can be no try. No excuses.

Win. The. Game.

Thats all that matters.
Winston would be proud.:thumbu::D

When a team has more depth they just don't benefit from the individual talent they take the upper hand by playing a superior system and utilizing better team tactics.

The Oilers aren't out of this but the club needs to acquire the depth in the future so they can play a superior system and utilize better tactics.

That crook Bettman has it all worked out to a fine art.

I don't know what this idiot is getting at with this poorly worded tweet.

Is he suggesting that the NHL should delay the game because the Panthers can't get their shit together, or is he suggesting the Panthers are stupid and should bear the consequences?

Don't understand how it's a "bad look" for the league that one of their member clubs appear to be incompetent.

The latter.

The NFL tells teams when to travel and how with their guidelines where apparently NHL teams can choose when and how to travel.

Its bad looks for the nHL if the Panthers chose to stay home for extra day of rest and get caught in the rain and can't travel and then they need to reschedule a SCF finals game which is completely inexcusable. Easy to guard against by having travels dates as part of series.

Florida also haven't played a single game outside of thier time zone this playoffs. This trip is gonna be bad for them.

He’s suggesting the Panthers are stupid and should bear the consequences I think. For once I agree with him.

Yeah f*** that. This whole situation is the Panthers own doing. I've never but had a fight coming back home to the West from the East not be delayed in my entire life.

They decided it would be better to stay at home and risk delays than to come to Edmonton. That's on them. As long as they're not literally going to miss the game they can deal with the consequences of their own actions.

It's not like we couldn't have accommodated literally anything they needed - we accommodated literally 16 teams concurrently during COVID.

RE: the time zone - they're already in a bad spot in EST time even if their plane took off within the hour. Probably wouldn't be in their hotel until around 11EST if they were lucky.

That's a best case.

They didn’t look at the weather to prepare for the possibility of a delay? Too bad for them why should the Oilers and the fans suffer because of the short sightedness to look at the damn weather? It’s not like bad weather like this doesn’t occur every year or anything.

They probably won’t get here till tomorrow.

It’s no different than a back to back game except in this case the flight is long and the possibility of jet lag exists.

Sources confirmed to me that Barkov is holding his jaw because the plane is delayed. Is there a tunnel he can walk down so we can all see how the delay impacts him? Pfft.

League has announced that the Oilers will be penalized for the Panthers flight being delayed. They are monitoring the situation to determine whether we start game 3 off with a five minute major or only a two minute minor. It will depend on how late the Panthers flight gets in, and how many players need oxygen and assistance upon deplaning. Multiple wheelchairs have already been ordered to be on hand, so expecting the worst.

If the league does something about this I can guarantee that it will be in a way that uniquely impacts the Oilers as a result of the Panthers f*** up.
