A quick thought, next penalty he should switch corners/try a backhand shot..

Reason being that he has scored on the right side on every try.and other teams will remember his penalties..

Well, I thought the same prior to this shootout.. When the goalies catch on, he has to show a wider repertoire, but as of now it seems to be working like a charm.

Or will the next goalie think that he will change...

Frans Nielsen of the Islanders has used the same shot in virtually every time he's gone in the shootout. he's 56.5%. i know Zucc has more up his sleeve than just that shot but he could definitely stick with the same shot for a little while..

Wolski did the same thing. He either went forehand/backhand or one handed tuck, but he hasn't been scoring at all in the shootout lately. It works both ways.

The problem for the goalies are, even though they know Zucca´s move, they don´t know if i suddeny changes side....

Zuke has more moves on shootouts, take a look at this:

For Norway against France (The Forsberg move)

But Zuccarello can also miss, this is from his time in Frisk Asker

Actually that foppa-conversion is the perfect response to a goalie catching up to his current signature move. Must be incredibly hard to try to stop a penalty which can result in a shot to both sides of the goal.

And yeah, that failed so is definitly a Datsyuk, which happens to be my favourite move. He (Datsyuk) makes it look so incredibly easy too.

"Zuccarello is now 3-for-3 in the competition, as is the injured Erik Christensen. The rest of the Rangers' shooters have gone a combined 0-for-14"
And some people call it a lottery, well there sure is some skill in it!

"Tre ganger har trener John Tortorella bedt oslogutten om å ta ansvar som en av tre mann i straffekonker. Tre ganger har Mats Zuccarello Aasen akseptert ansvaret, gått utpå isen, tatt med seg pucken i et tempo som selv skilpadder ville skammet seg over, fintet ut motstandernes keeper og sendt pucken som ekspresspost til nettmaskene."

"Three times, coach John Tortorella have asked the Oslo-kid to take responsibility as 1 of 3 in the shoot-out. Three times Mats Zuccarello Aasen have accepted that responsibility, went onto the ice, taken the puck with him in a pace even turtles would been ashamed of and deked out the opposition goalie and sent the puck as an express-package into the net.

At first I thought it was saying "expresspotet", and is "expresspotato" or in other words, a potato-cannon(small one) ;)

This was not long after Datsyuk netted his, but it is also important to know that he tok the same penalty in his next shootout, for the national team i might ad. and just as Datsyuk he made it look easy:) He has got alot of moves up his sleave. And you guys have alot to look forward to.. As do I, hehe

Will be interesting to see what the cat does when goalies starts to deny him his left side. He cant pull a Foppa each time.He isnt that good with backhand.

you dont need a strong backhand to do the foppa move??, you just let the puck slip in when the goalie is on the other side. u see it perfectly executed in the video above!

Worry about the collective that can't score a measly goal - or even give a good attempt, not the player who is 3 for 3. He will miss eventually, but it's not like it's a real problem.

I didnt mean that either. When they force him to go to the right he as to use backhand.Yes, a Foppa is just a touch.

Again; Goalies will have trouble saving his penalties even though they know his move. Zucca is so good and extremely quick with his stick that if the goalie tries to deny him his left side, his right side is wide open, and does anyone seriously believe that Zucca isn´t cabable of using his backhand? Lundqvist also says that Zuccarello pretty much scores on every penalty-shot in practice....and Hank knows his moves.....

But I look forward to see him pull the Foppa-move and the Datsyuk-move.

Of course, as long as he is picked as one of the shooters, he will miss a penalty-shot, eventually. No doubt about that.

Here´s a great video from his time in Modo. It show som of his great moves, including a different move on a penalty shot, and even a couple of fights(!) The kid is not afraid.... A couple great plays between him en Foppa is also there.

Next penalty shot goes between the legs....

Watch, see and remember...

Btw; Still scratching my head as to why his 3 ps goals doesn't count as "goals"....

A goal is a goal is a goal....that's how I was raised.....

Probably just the same reason why the penalty shootout goals in soccer doesn't count....

if it's a game winner in a shootout, i feel like it should be counted as a goal, as well.

Pretty sure that a penalty goal counts as a goal for the player when it comes to overal goal scored here in Norway - but other Norse Men has to weigh in on this....

So a field goal doesn't count as a goal for the kicker in Nfl either then ?
