Zucs is by far the best passer on the team. It's not even close. Wish we had someone like that playing defense. We lack a above average passer on the back end. A guy like Kaberle would do wonders for this team

We should package Gilroy since Toronto was also after him in efforts to get Kaberle.

Way to go Zuke..

I remember the point predictions early in the season and people were doubting if he'd ever get many points...

I'm impressed with all aspects of his game right now...What ever he's doing between games works....

Wonder how he'd fare if he had started the season this way ?

Don't know if this has been posted here yet, but I enjoyed it.

Quite a few decent hockey players in there.

yeah, really love that little clip, its absolutely hilarous :)

For those who dont know, "Mammamia" is a restaurant in Örnsköldsvik, the home of Modo hockey club. Modo has produced hockey players like Peter Forsberg, Markus Näslund, the Sedin twins, etc (also where Zucc played prior to signing with the Rangers).

As the "rookie", Zucc had to do the dishes, hehe (the note on the washing machine to his right says "out of order") :)

I fear Zuc will be a liability come play off time as he is totally lost in the D zone. Play off hockey is first D responsibility with intense physical play......... then offense.

I give him credit for trying but not sure he helps us down the playoff road. Different game in playoff's. He is a shootout specialist for sure.....do they have shoot outs in the play off?...........he reminds me of Dawes but smaller........We did not keep Dawes around come playoff time.

I'm positive some pun wizard at a newspaper desk's just itching for Mats to be in his first fight. 5 bucks that we will see the headline "Zucca punch!".......

Im so damn proud of being a countryman with Mats. Ive been following that kid for many years, and i knew he would become something great. Now i sit up all night when Rangers play, and watch the game on the internet. :)

I really had no idea what to expect from Zuc, but he has totally impressed me. Constantly making things happen or some how being there when things do happen. No doubt about it at this point, the guys a player

It was a good siging and the kid was a proven commudity (sp).

There were many mentionings of guys like Jämtin and Heikkinen -- but there is a world of difference between guys like Zucc and Jan Marek, even Kveton, and say guys like Jämtin and Heikkinen.

Like we in NY can sound very impressed by say a Callahan, still we aren't saying that he is better then AO. But for a outsider I guess it can almost sound like that. Zucc was a AO in the SEL, Jämtin was a Callahan.

11 points in 17 games + being money the shootout is very respectable. He's on pace for 30 points in 47 games (unless he gets injured or sent down :crossfing)

Even when he isn't getting on the scoreboard, he's contributing in another way. He makes a lot of plays out there. Comparing him to Dawes and Prucha just because his small is dumb.

Shootout goals are goals too, probably more important than regular goals. 11 points + 4 SO goals = 15 pucks in the net over 17 games, and 14 over the last 12 games. I'll take it. The kid definitely brought us several points over the games he's played here.

I really don't see him going down. Zucca deserves second line duty.

By the way a line of Prust - Boyle - Callahan is probably the best third line in the game. Maybe someone will score more, but for what you want from a third line, nobody is better.

Even the 4th line of Avery - Drury - Feds would be a very good third line, and they will be a 4th line when everyone is healthy.

Norwegians are invading the Rangers site, I guess that also includes hfboards :D

For some wierd reason we have that in our blood, the first european to set foot on the american continent was an Norwegian. :D

Yeah, Leif Ericson 500 years before Christopher Columbus and we have the only pure kicker in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Jan Stenerud, largely because he changed the face of kicking in professional football. He was the first to really "boom" kicks through the end zone, prompting the NFL to move the kickoff point back 5 yards in 1974.

And now we have Zucca........:yo:

The question is whether the New York rangers are right team for Zucca? What will happen when all the good players are back from injury? Could it be he only get 7-10 minutes a game, or will he be sent down? I mean Zucca has built up an enormous self-confidence every game and he is on the right track. Zuccarrello is in a development phase where it is important to get confidence from the coach in the long term, but Tortorella is going to face a luxury problem when everyone is back .... who will he choose? I'm afraid Zuccarello can be sent down down quickly if he fails to perform well in some games.

Yes the Rangers are the right club for him. If he keeps on proving himself, he will keep on getting ice time. The creativity he brings to the table is needed by the Rangers, and he's making it very tough for Torts to cut down his toi.

With cally, christ, prospal, feds, dubi coming back, he won't be playing as much as he has, but even 7-10 mins/game wouldn't be bad for a kid called up in his rookie year.

Of course he will be sent down if he fails to play the way he should. That's the way it has to be. If his performance drops, he will pay the price, and that price may very well be a new stay at Hartford. He has to earn his spot on the lineup. He sure as hell won't be dressed for games just because "he's at a stage in his develompent where he needs confidence from the coach".

Seems like mza has fit inn very nicely in NY, and if he continues to play as he has done so far, next season is going to be great for the kid.

Zuccarello is on this team even if it's 100% healthy at this point. The guy could be effective as a fourth line player, but chances are we'll never have to see him in such a role. He's going to be getting Power Play time even with Prospal/Cally back.

Prospal - Boyle - Gabby

Dubi - AA - Cally

MZA - Stepan - Prust

Feds/Whale player to be named later - Dru - Avery
