All signs point to the next episode being a "catch up" story on their supply run. We haven't seen the two of them since they left Negan's outpost in 6x12. Tara doesn't even know Denise is dead yet.

Well, the episode description does indicate that a new society will be introduced, so perhaps that's the main reason they're doing this. Otherwise, I agree.
