So with all of this "stuff" happening, what exactly is the show leading to for the mid-season finale?

Less than 11-million viewers for this past Sunday's episode. Lowest since season 3. The cliffhanger may have turned more people off than the show runners anticipated.

That and the fact that the episodes are made for binge watching.

Maybe the fans were for real when they said they'd stop watching because of Glenn.

The one storyline per episode probably isn't helping keep interest alive either, as it feels like it's dragging on. Newer characters are getting a lot of screen time at the expense of fan favorites.

Okay episode. I'm very curious for where the Carl Jesus storyline goes tho, the next episode for their story should be good... to bad it will be episode 13 or something weeks from now

Ratings would prob increase if they killed off Carl... he's so bad. Unwatchable. Same with angry looking black girl for 4 years.

Glenn had been dead for years.

Ratings probably won't improve next week either. AMC had a "weeks ahead" preview after Sunday's episode, since they know a lot of people wouldn't tune in if they found out it's a Tara and Heath centric episode 6.

Yeah, he's really starting to annoy the hell out of me again lately. First that stupid stuff with him pointing a gun at one of Negan's guys,
just after he made quite the statement of killing two of their own in a pretty cruel way. And now him driving up to that guy's barn. Okay... He's no jeeeeeez.

If they would have cut/minimized the Carl/Enid stuff, that episode would have been fantastic. I love Xander Berkley's Gregory...he's such a worm and one of those characters you just love to hate. I get the Carl/Enid stuff needs to be done, but Chandler Rigg's acting is really starting to pull me out of the story. I did think it was better than his appearance in the previous episode though, so maybe he's adjusting.

I think Negan may be part of the reason for the low ratings

His appearance was anticipated for years, and personally speaking, it's been a huge letdown

The actor playing him is so over-the-top that the performance comes across as hammy

And on top of that, not only did they kill off 2 popular characters, but another popular character, Darryl, isn't likeable anymore since he was responsible for one of them

Oh, and the whole Rick + Michonne thing is lame too
