That was the biggest thing for me. With GOT, there were things I loved and things I absolutely hated. D&D can kiss my ass with what they did towards the end. So I was hesitant with anyone adapting Fire & Blood. So far, very impressed. Just wish they would of slowed down the pacing...you'll see when you watch. Replacing actors is fine. They hired powerhouses on both ends. But wanting more of the younger cast and not skipping so much time is where I'm left like "aw cmon!" But not in a bad way. It's nice knowing this show is in better hands. You can feel it from the drop.

Pacing is a red flag because of season 8 of GoT where they decided to do 6 episodes instead of 10 and then have Varys basically teleport from Mereen to Dorne in 20 minutes.

Oh my God.

What a "terrible in a funny way" show (as so many of those '60s comedies were).

Little Known Factoid: CHB apparently had a thing for "Wrangler Jane,"

Not my thing. Never watched "GOT," either.

On the other hand, enjoyed Penny Dreadful,

they should have continued Penny Dreadful after Green decided to leave. The other characters could have carried it IMO.

I really liked that show.

I think they originally wrote it with Dryer in mind and the concept was that Sam was a former pro football player, but when Danson beat him out with his physique they decided that baseball player was more realistic.
Yeah.

Former Red Sox pitcher or... former New England Patriot?

I think they made the right choice.

BTW,

I really liked that show.

So did I.

Excellent casting. Eva Green was sensational.

FINAL PRINCIPAL CAST MEMBER of the Cult classic "Hogan's Heroes", has passed at age 96, RIP Robert Clary 1926-2022
Wow.RIP

that was a great show.

and what a life:

Robert Clary was born Robert Max Widerman in Paris, France, on March 1, 1926. He was one of 14 children in his Orthodox Jewish family. Clary was only 16 when he was imprisoned in a concentration camp at Ottmuth, Poland (per the Florida Sun-Sentinel), and then in Buchenwald. The actor credited his youth, good health, and ability to sing and play music -- he had been performing on the radio since he was 12 years old and performed for SS members every other Sunday at Buchenwald -- with his survival.

Finished season 5 of the Crown

It was good but way more tabloid-y than previous seasons. And I know that all conversations have been dramatized and "based on real events" from the very beginning, but in this season alone there are several events portrayed that you can easily look up and see never happened at all.

John Major condemned the show for its inaccuracies in a statement but ironically he's portrayed in a very positive way and comes across as a level-headed and reliable prime minister.

I think everyone like Judi Dench and others who were friends of the Royal Family were releasing their calls for netflix to put a disclaimer on it because they believed it would be very pro-Diana and anti-Charles in its portrayals of events, but IMO Diana comes across the worst of anyone - her character is insufferably awful. Charles is also portrayed as a bit conniving but not as bad as her. The Queen kind of feels like a background character this season, as is Philip, but Jonathan Pryce makes the most of the screentime he receives (as expected).

Just finished the mini-series Black Bird on Apple TV. Based on a true story about the capture and conviction of a Midwestern serial killer, Larry Hall. Paul Walter Houser (from Richard Jewell) plays Hall and if he doesn't AT LEAST get an Emmy nomination for his performance, it will be a travesty. He will make your skin crawl.

6 episodes total. Very well worth the time.

The Peripheral has been really interesting. I’m 3 episodes in.

If you like anime, Cyberpunk was pretty cool. Arcane was also good.

That show hasn't been good since Darabont, imo.

It was...okay

I've seen worse finales. I watched Lost 😂
I cannot believe i stuck with this show all the way through. It took a massive hit when they cried broke and Darabont left, but they still have enough decent source material that I felt it could still work.

They bungled it almost every step of the way, and randomly would slip in a great episode that was new to the comic story.

Then right back to their bullshit.

I never watched Lost…but i did watch the series finale for some reason lol. I was angry on behalf of my friends that watched it. However, 6 season…compared to 11.

Lost started off phenomenal. But then...it was just...you could tell they had no plan and were throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks. The finale had me legitimately angry. Angry I wasted all those years watching. Fool me once...etc etc

TWD had source material. It had a base. Of course you don't have to do everything in the comics, but it had everything you wanted going in. Firing Frank REALLY hurt. Gimple can kiss my ass for what he did to Chandler Riggs and others. I will say, this season and last wasnt...so bad. Angela Kang is a better writer than Gimple thats for sure. But I can only imagine what this show would of been if Frank was still in charge.

Either way. I'll watch the prequels 🤣😅 it was nice seeing _____ again.

We're lucky we didn't get a Soprano ending at least!

But chandler Riggs was a horrendous actor. I do still wish they kept him over Judith. Would’ve been much better had Judith and Lori suffered their original fate.

I liked the Sopranos ending lol.

Breaking Bad takes the cake for wrapping everything up though.

Oh he was bad haha. But telling that kid to go ahead and buy a house and go to the local college only to kill him for no damn reason was bullshit. Made no sense.

The OG Lori and Judith fate would of been more effective. So I definitely agree.

The Sopranos ending, as I've gotten older...I've interpreted better and understand it more. But as a 17 year old kid when it ended, I remember staring at the black screen like 🧐 all of my friends too. What a time. I would love a continuation of the show honestly. Meadow in the business somehow. Jamie Lynn said she would be down to do it in a heartbeat.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Two of the greatest shows out there.

I'll throw in Justified too.
