McD not being part of last night was super weird. Even if they told him we're trading you tomorrow 100%, the guy is the captain of the team for a few years, you think he'd want to come to have some sort of goodbye moment of closure. Could be that he's just really upset about the whole thing, thought he'd be here forever, etc.

Can see why it appeared weird and pouty, but on the other hands, it would've been awkward and even distracting to the task at hand, which was to celebrate Ratelle and not talk about McD this and McD that when he would have went to shake his hand and line up.

Brooksie has been the best on the beat so far this season, but...figures he's out on the big day. Not sure if anyone else can provide much value so I guess it's Bobfather and Elliot today.

Kind of have the feeling we will have another deal today but I don't think it's a mega-deal. All the talk of McDonagh getting traded yesterday I think was hogwash. So many unsubstantiated reports.
"He left to get in a cab early."
"He deleted his Twitter account"
"He's not at the ceremony"

McKenzie saying there is nothing on the table on the day of the trade deadline is good enough for me. #27 Stays...For the now.

Elliot spoke about Zucc. Said there is no chatter at all. So many clubs could use a top 6 winger. But again, with no chatter to the insiders I don't think he's going anywhere.

Desharnais? Maybe
Spooner? Unlikely

Miller, Hayes, Kreider, Skjei, Buch, Zbad, All staying put!

One player not really mentioned.

Vesey...He's my wildcard to be moved today for an unexpected return!
He gets most of his info from here tho

It's more likely that the teams that are working with Gorton on a deal for him asked that he NOT be put on the ice.....to make sure he doesn't get hurt . Or its just Gorton being smart to protect his blue chip asset. Why risk it over some nostalgia event? Smart move either way to sit him one more game.

Eh, it's just MSG people covering it. They could just say "it's great to the captain here celebrating one of our all time greats, he'll be back on the ice soon, etc etc etc" Its not like a bunch of uncontrollable media was on the scene.

I doubt he'd be hurt wearing a suit at a team ceremony like that.

I get a kick out of Miller the bozo. When's the last time you heard someone be referred to as a bozo? First trade of the day... CBJ doing nothing.

If we get anything for pavelec or desharnais I’d be thrilled and at the same time shocked. I’m not expecting any offers for either.

I would be perfectly ok with trading JT. He has been abysmal this year. It is one thing if the team is bad or if you dont like the coach, but is disrespectful and dishonorable to coast and not show up every night to the fans who support you and your teammates who rely on you.
