Why Stastny wasn’t moved doesn’t make much sense in my eyes. He’s not re-signing here by all accounts. Have to honestly how much 26 was in Chevys ear to keep him with the Jets. Didn’t get the Sanford pickup purely that we have David Gustafsson in the minors ready to go.

Otherwise, good to get apples back and I think while not a first rounder, like the deal they got for Copp if Barron works out. Worried about his foot speed but time will tell.

Wheeler didn't want Stastny moved. They still want to compete. They didn't even offer him up or take calls.

This is exactly what I hoped for today. Get some futures for Copp, but also shore up the bottom 6 for cheap. I wouldn't have minded trading a defenseman away, but they all have term so maybe that is an offseason option.

If scheifele does indeed go, and we do not get a strong top6 in that trade (which Is plausible) . Our is C depth is laughable. PLD I know we all love him, and I do too, however a ~60 pt 1C who isn't a Selke guy is not good enough for cup aspirations. Maybe that changes with a bit more TOI with Scheifele gone.

Moving Scheifele is tempting because his play can be infuriating at times but we also don't have any replacement for him (plus I'd hesitate due to sentimentality).

Pretty dismal TDL imo.

+ Appleton is a plus.

Because this team is no longer a Playoff contender, were going to struggle to acquire and keep talent.

I have a feeling this is foreshadowing for what's to come this Summer.

I think you are going to pleased with Barron.

I think with consistent playing time, he will get more confident and demonstrate that he's a solid 3rd/4th liner.

They are kind of correct terms, I'd call one a conditonal first myself, but maybe I was misreading your intention there. Calling them two conditional 2nds in the context you did felt very negative.
