I totally disagree.

SEE: Jerry Sienfeld's recent explanation that he doesnt even do college shows anymore because 18-22 year olds today are a bunch of whiny, over-protected, coddled, babies who cant take a joke.
Jerry frickin Seinfeld, how this guy is still relevant is beyond me. And lol at one of the cleanest and most famous comedians in the world whining about whiners. He's another one talking out of his a**. Lets see, I could do 3 sold out shows at MSG but I think I'd rather give NYU a go. Nonsense.

Jim Jeffries’ days of being a shock comedian have long passed. He’s just another political commentator disguised as a comedian now. He’s like Colbert and Oliver: he’s capable of being really funny if he wasn’t cynically going along with the current trend so he can have a steady TV presence. Never mind the fact that he had a show already- Legit, one of the most overlooked shows in recent years.

PC culture isn’t ruining comedy, that’s just a convenient scapegoat. What is ruining comedy is the trend that humor should be a secondary concern to a message about society.
I disagree. Have you seen This is Me Now?

all this talk about millennials being coddled, entitled, easily-offended whiners with absolutely zero scrutiny towards the generation that raised them...

par for the course.
FACT! PURE Truth.

I don't have kids but many/most of my friends do...Friends that I grew up with and knew their parents. They treat their kids so different than they were raised. Especially from a responsibility point of view...It is almost like an obsessive over protection and strange desire to please their children. It is universal among my friends my age and I really don't get it.

See, I appreciate that that's anecdotally true. Stoked that you took that at face value and not as a millennial simply trying to deflect blame, haha.

My parents made it pretty clear to me in my early teen years, "Yes, you are special... To us. No one else cares though." Also goes without saying that they didn't care what I thought about their decisions/motives in parenting. Guess that's what happens when your folks are old-school Hudson County people.

I think just like with everything, you get the people that are super PC and idiots that are the most vocal about things. You dont get the people that dont really care about it being vocal about it online

I mentioned Legit already, but it’s a vastly overlooked and underrated show. Being demoted to FXX for its second season after it spent its first season in the then-plum post-Archer timeslot on FX didn’t help its cause. Shame because that season was even better than the first- it had a lot more depth than just “Jim, a loser, and his disabled brother get into funny situations.”

If Curb or South Park debuted two years ago, they would have gotten universally negative reviews for being insensitive, just like “Who Is America” did.

Agree on South Park, but not on Who Is America.

I watched the first 2 episodes of W.I.A. because I like S.B.C., but I barely laughed at all and didnt find them funny at all. Didnt watch the other episodes because of it as 2 was enough.

Absolutely true. The "everyone gets a trophy" parents are a huge part of the blame.

And guess what?

It's getting WORSE, because those millennial parents are worse than the parents who raised them. My wife has been a teacher for 14 years, and she says there is a HUGE difference in the parenting between the start of her career & now:

2004 - TEACHER: Little Sally/Timmy did XYZ bad behaviour in school today
-PARENT : Wow. I am SO sorry, Sally/Timmy will NEVER do this again. I will talk with them immediately.

2018 - TEACHER: Little Sally/Timmy did XYZ bad behaviour in school today
-PARENT : Wow. What did (the school, the teacher, society, a classmate) do to make Sally/Timmy do this?

Nothing can ever be the fault of a millennial parent's child.

this reminds me of an anecdote from my mom from parent/teacher conferences in high school.

my spanish teacher brought up my habitual texting in class (i had gotten my first smartphone so yeah).

my mom: “so take the phone from him! he doesn’t pay for it!”

teacher, stunned (may he rest in peace): “ma’am you have no idea how many parents complain when we confiscate phones.”

Regarding millennial parents: I know a woman from college who ended having an unplanned kid almost three years ago. I can’t speak to her parenting skills because I haven’t seen them, but judging by what she shares on Facebook, she’s become one of those “wine moms” (or, in her case, “liquor moms”).

Also she shared a picture of herself three years ago when she was pregnant, saying “I miss being pregnant #milf.” OK then.

I’ve heard that WIA is pretty uneven, especially with the first episode.

I couldn't agree more.

Listening to guys like Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, and Joe Rogan whine about "pc culture" taking anything away from current comedy is disingenuous at best. And they all tell the same sob stories about how they won't play college campuses anymore. Why the hell would you play Rutgers when you can sell out The Rock? All of these guys have more money and fame than Pryor, Carlin, Murphy and Dangerfield could have dreamed of in the 70's and every one of them says whatever the hell they want.

Jim Jefferies is one of the top 5 most offensive comedians of all time and the dude (deservedly imo) was rewarded with a sitcom and a late night talk show.
these were comedians with established careers in the past, so their reputation is grandfathered in. new comedians/comediennes or whatever, can you even name anyone big enough that also "breaks the pc mold", so to speak? i'd love to know, since i'd watch em

This is a podcast and not a watchable special, but I find the podcast “Cum Town” very funny. Granted, it’s very immature, but so am I.

The filter censored out the title, but think of a three letter slang for a particular body fluid.

I can't say I know of any off the top of my head as A) I don't really go to clubs, and B) it's generally a late 20's-middle-aged persons game because it takes so long for them to catch their break so to speak.

EDIT: it also takes them much longer (my guess is it's because they start later in life) than most artists to hone their craft and more importantly - it seems - to build a crew. Notice that most of these guys are usually surrounded by other comedians, and it's usually the same ones.

On a side note; NJ transit has to be the worst run company in the history of mankind.

Another derailment in the Hudson River tunnels today, huh?

Well until the feds realize that these tunnels are controlled by *Amtrak* and not by NJ/NY it'll just keep getting worse and worse. Just hope it gets prioritized/started within the next decade.
