Fencing would become America's sport if the put the Fox glowpuck technology in the epee so they look like light sabres

I think I'd get a seizure watching all those colors flying all over the place.

I kind of want to learn fencing. Happens about this time every four years.

A fencing place opened in a strip mall not far from me a few years ago. I thought for sure it would go bust in 6 or 8 months, but it seems (to my surprise) to be doing pretty well. I notice it's relatively busy whenever I'm at the liquor store in said strip mall.

If you collect a Pokemon, it doesnt prevent someone else from collecting that Pokemon, right?

Nope.

Pokemon spawn in select locations and everyone can catch the same Pokemon at that location. Only thing that differs is the Pokemon's level -- called CP or combat power -- which varies for each level a "trainer" is at.

The only exception to this is using an incense that attracts Pokemon to your location for 30 minutes. You are the only one that can catch those Pokemon.

So, I need more, opinions on music, and as everyone hats the vocalist it seems, I present an instrumental track this time (IE, vocals are muted out).

I'm Rhythm guitar on the right side and the last guitar 'solo' (the ostinato right before the strange slowdown break thing)

Thoughts?

It's not bad.

I'm not really into that style of music, I'm more into hardcore punk and even a lot of 80's thrash.

But it's by no means bad, still sounds better than what you hear on the radio for the most part. The solo is good, I can appreciate metal solos.

That drummer though, he's all over the place. He sounds like he drank a couple cases of red bull before the recording session. I do like the double bass though, he just loves the rolls though. I enjoyed the one random ride bell around the 2:10-ish mark or so.

You guys get a lot of gigs?

Not so much now with my working hours, I'm at work when most people are out clubbing/going to shows.

And I know what you mean about '80s thrash and hardcore. I grew up on a combination of Anthrax (Metallica and Megadeth are too bland for me), Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, and a bit of a later metal band from East Brunswick called God Forbid.

The quality sounds pretty good, so I'm assuming you went to a legit studio. It doesn't sound like it was recorded in a basement or a bathroom or something.

I'm really into Minor Threat and early 7 Seconds only. Although they have a few more recent records that aren't bad. Their stuff in the middle though. :help:

Really into Black Flag and a lot of those west coast bands and New York Hardcore also. I'm up for vacation and saw Gorilla Biscuits at This Is Hardcore in Philly this past weekend!:yo:

I do like the first couple Metalica records and Master Of Puppets and And Justice For All aren't bad either. Everything after that is not.

I have a fully functioning 'studio' in my apartment, and have worked on a tonne of local CDs.

I just remembered (by looking in my collection) all of my Fugazi and Rites of Spring tapes.

Most of my hardcore though is later East Bay hardcore, like early AFI, Death by Stereo, TSOL, The Nerve Agents.

Then I got into Ska, but that's a different discussion. It's rare to be able to speak to a fan of good, old fashioned hardcore, not that newer stuff that people call 'emo'. I listed to REAL emo, like Rites of Spring and Jawbreaker.

S.O.D. and M.O.D were huge among my friends.

Many of my friends were into the New York hardcore scene in the mid 1980's. I never truly got into it as much as punk and more traditional metal like Maiden and Priest...I like a little melody ;) A little.

I did kinda like Celtic Frost.

4:00 am 1986, driving through the Delaware Water Gap to go fishing - I say, "I need coffee" My buddy whose driving hands me a cassette and says "here put this in, you need wont need coffee" That was my introduction to Celtic Frost.

I absolutely agree on the crap that's called emo.

Rites Of Spring were one of the first bands described as emo, if I recall correctly. As well as a few of the other Dischord records bands out of DC around 85 or so.

I have Rites Of Spring discography or whatever it's called. It has most of the songs they ever recorded. For want of is probably one of my favorite songs ever. I get really annoyed when My Chemical Romance and other trash is called emo. I really like Texas Is The Reason and am friends with a few guys that were in the band, but I don't like when they're called emo. It doesn't mean they're a bad band though.

Jawbreaker isn't bad, but I don't really like the singers voice much in the later records, after he had surgery on his vocal chords (or whatever the story was there). I especially could not stand his voice in Jets To Brazil, the band he did after Jawbreaker, with the drummer from Texas Is The Reason. But they did have a few songs I could listen to.

I just saw this news. What did he die from? No one seems to say?

A big man of roughly 60 years old going suddenly often points to heart attack. Seems like ESPN is a plagued entity. Of all the on-air folks that remained, he was probably my favorite.

Heat index going to be well over 100 today.

In others words stay indoors with air conditioning.
If you're off work today go see a movie or sit in an air-conditioned bar all day.

Ughhhh. One of my favorites. And poor Hannah Storm who gets to announce a death of another colleague. I hope it's sheer coincidence that she just happens to be in the anchor seat when these feeds come across her desk

Oh god, Pierre is doing water polo.

Doing water polo, as in participating? Or commentating?

I know it's commentating, but I think I'd rather watch him actually participate in water polo than commentate on it.

Didn't Doc do commentating for water polo in the last summer Olympics in 2012?

Yup.

He called it in a few olympics. Entertaining as always

This is the greatest image ever and I demand photoshops.

I second this.:yo:
